Got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, saying I was under a tax probe. The message was all recorded, looked like a scam to me. Be careful, it’s dodgy!

They said they were from eToro, the stock trading site, and told me to update my account with them. When I asked them to send me an email instead, they got rather pushy and didn’t like that I questioned why it had to be done on a call.

Non-stop calls from this and other numbers like it ever since I got BT broadband. It's like they already know who my provider is or something. I've had to block 5 different numbers, all beginning with 0203.

Somebody called saying they were Oliver Williams from BT tech support and gave me an ID number. He asked me to log into my computer or laptop so he could fix some errors. I told him what if that’s not the main device I use? He kept saying it had to be done on a PC or laptop and that he would wait while I logged in. The call came from abroad, which was odd for a very English sounding name, if you know what I mean. My advice: just hang up. It’s a scam.

I keep receiving calls from this particular number around five times daily. I can hardly decipher what they’re saying, and it’s becoming quite infuriating!

Did I have an accident? The phone went off while I was having a wee, startled the life outta me, so I’d say that’s a pretty big accident! How do I file a claim then? ;)

This particular number seems to ring through every few days, and whenever I pick up, there’s silence on the other end. On the rare occasion when someone actually spoke, I couldn't make head or tail of what they were saying! Quite bewildering, really.

I received a call at precisely 5:16 PM on the 8th of May, 2017, from this number. The caller identified himself as Gavin from the Accident Helpline. I inquired as to how they obtained my information and requested that they refrain from contacting me again.

Some bloke named Dave rang me claiming to be from the UK Compensation Helpline. When I asked him to clarify what that involved, he just ended the call. They’ve called me five times in the last month, and that’s the only occasion they didn’t hang up right away when I picked up. I’m on the TPS list, but obviously, they don’t care about that at all.

Got a call from some accident helpline asking if I’d been in an accident. They didn’t have any of my info, so I reckon it’s just a cold call from some call centre in India pretending to be local.

I got a call but as soon as I answered, the call ended after just a few seconds. After seeing what others have said, I wouldn’t share any personal info with this number. Doesn’t seem trustworthy at all.

I recently received a call from a firm dealing with accident compensation, and they were probing me for specifics about an incident I supposedly had. When I replied that I hadn't been involved in any accident, they then pressed me to provide information about a family member who might have experienced one instead. They claim to be an accident claims service based here in the UK.

Someone rang me claiming there was a record of me being in an accident lately. I told them straight away it was a con and that I was ex directory and on the TPS list, so they had no right to call. They got quite rude when I said they better not call back, then just hung up on me.

I got a ring from this number and the bloke said he was Shawn from some accident helpline. When I asked who he was trying to get hold of, he just repeated who he was. Then when I pressed for details, he claimed either me or someone in my family had been in a car crash. As soon as I asked for specifics about the accident or who exactly, he just hung up on me.

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent, number was hidden, claiming BT was gonna disconnect my internet for half a year. She rushed me through to someone called 'Sam Bennett' real quick and odd-like. Tried ringing back on 0203 286 7657, but no one picked up.

They told me their number was 02032867657. They wanted me to run some software on my computer but I refused. Then they asked me to open something else to prove my customer number but I said no again. They threatened me with court action if I didn’t cooperate, but I still said no. After they hung up, I called BT right away and they told me it wasn’t them and they’d never request anything like that.

Someone claimed to be from BT and gave me the number 02032867657. When I called, it was answered as BT's legal department. I wasn't sure tho, seemed like a scam so I said so. The person got annoyed and started swearing. Just a heads up, be careful.

Got a call from someone with a foreign accent, called herself Rosie Brown and claimed to be from BT. She asked me to get on my computer so she could check an ID number to prove she was legit. Said my computer was being used for some dodgy illegal stuff. I just kept her on the line for a laugh, telling her that if there was anything illegal going on, the police should be involved and I was about to ring them. She ended up hanging up. Really worry about older folks who might not be so savvy with their computers and could fall for this.

this bloke claimed to be alex martin from bt tech support. gave me a number to call back and even an employee id, supposed proof. he wanted me to hold while i phoned the number on my mobile to verify. i just ended the call. he rang back asking why i cut off. like others mentioned, he tried to scare me by saying my router was compromised and my personal info was in danger. i kept him on the line for ages, hoping it would bump up their charges.

just like everyone else, got three different people claiming to be from bt. they said my internet would be cut off within half an hour and could be down for weeks. i kept them on the line for about 7 minutes hoping to waste their time, but bet they’re prepared for that. it’s really worrying if they target older folks or people who aren’t so internet savvy with these scams! i told them i had mates in high places who already tracked the call overseas. ye, it was a bit of a laugh and they hung up straight after! haha!
