3 yearsI got a call from a woman with a strong oriental accent claiming she was from O2, my phone company. I said I wasn’t an O2 customer and she just muttered something before cutting me off.3 yearsGot a call from a woman speaking with a heavy Indian accent saying she was from O2 and wanted to give me a discount on my bill. I actually use O2 myself, but she kept asking for my email and there was loads of noise in the background. It just didn’t feel quite right, so I ended the call.3 yearsThis week I got a couple of calls from a guy with an Indian accent, once today and another attempt two days back. He said he was with O2 and could give me a 40% discount on my phone bill. Honestly, how do these lot get hold of our numbers? It's crazy how many annoying calls you get nowadays.3 yearsOver the past couple of days, this number kept ringing me up, like five times in total. I picked up once, and there was just loads of noise in the background for a good 15 seconds before a woman finally came on the line. It all felt a bit dodgy, so I ended up just hanging up.3 yearsGot a call from this number, it showed up as spam on my phone. Thing is, I have a block set which normally only lets landline numbers ring through. Tried to switch off the block but couldn’t get it done. Blocking calls is a different problem altogether for me.3 yearsI got a call saying I could get 30% off my bill since my contract’s ending this month. At first I wasn’t sure if it was legit so I just hung up and looked it up afterwards - turns out it was a scam, no surprise really.3 yearsRight, so I’ve been looking into these calls myself. This is now the second time they’ve been ringing me. The first call I pretty much knew was dodgy. Basically, they claim there’s some issue and offer you money as compensation. Then they tell you to put your phone face down on your router so they can supposedly “update” it. Sounds daft, I know, but loads of people fall for it. While your phone’s lying face down, they’re busy draining your bank account! They already have your info, probably from the Dark Web, including your bank details. I only left £70 in my account and moved the rest to a mate’s account just in case. If you fall for their trick, they hijack your phone and use your online shopping accounts to buy Play Store cards. Luckily, my bank refunded everything that was stolen after I explained the situation. Just telling them about the call was enough to get my money back. Seriously, don’t call these scammers back under any circumstances. Thanks for reading this, hope it saves someone else from a nightmare. I kept asking him what my name and address were if I was really their customer. He just ended the call on me! Tried to mess with him a bit longer but no luck. Just another crook trying to cheat people. Definitely not O2!Dave3 yearsSomeone called claiming to be with O2 and said they had a 30% discount deal. It’s really annoying how personal info gets shared around for stuff like this, it should honestly be outlawed. Loads of people out there are vulnerable, and it’s sad to think they might get caught up in these awful scams.3 yearsAt first it showed up as O2 calling me, but then I got annoyed and decided to mess with them a bit. They passed me on to someone else, but that person just hung up. When I tried ringing back, it said the number wasn’t valid. Funny thing is, before they disconnected, I could hear voices in the background like there were a few people chatting.3 yearsAbsolutely vile creatures in the water, honestly gross.3 yearsTotally agree with everything said here already, these people are definitely scammers.3 yearsThey’ve been calling me constantly, barely letting me get a “hello” out before jumping into some 30% discount deal with O2.
