I received a call from a woman with a thick Indian accent, purporting to be from O2 and offering a reduction on my bill. I do indeed have an O2 account, but when they requested my email address, the sheer amount of background commotion raised alarm bells for me. It felt rather suspicious, so I decided to end the call.

I've had a couple of calls lately from an Indian gentleman who says he's representing O2, promising a whopping 40% discount on my bill. It really baffles me how these individuals manage to get hold of our phone numbers. It's absolutely bonkers to be inundated with these pesky calls!

On the first occasion, I had a hunch it was all a con. What these tricksters tend to do is dangle the carrot of cash reimbursement, claiming there's been a bit of a mishap on their part, naturally. As part of their ruse, they’ll instruct you to place your mobile screen down on your router to ‘upgrade’ it. I mean, seriously! It’s baffling how many folks fall for this nonsense. While your phone's face is down, they're swiftly emptying your bank account! They’ve likely swiped your personal information from the Dark Web, including sensitive data like bank details. I was fortunate to have only left £70 in my account; the rest I promptly transferred to a mate’s. Once they’ve ensnared you in their web of deceit, they can hijack your phone and access your online shopping profiles, ordering a slew of Play Store vouchers. Fortunately, my bank reimbursed me the funds snatched away. The specifics surrounding the call were sufficient for me to get my money back. I genuinely hope this advice proves valuable. I got a call today, 15th Feb, from someone saying they were Daniel with O2. I just put the phone down. Now I've blocked the number straight away.

These lot keep ringing me from 020 3286 7258, but then they try from other numbers too. I just end up blocking all of them.

Got a call from some dodgy bloke claiming to be from O2, obviously a scam. Had a thick Pakistani accent and called himself Dave, which made me laugh. I kept asking him what my name and address were if I was really their customer. He just ended the call on me! Tried to mess with him a bit longer but no luck. Just another crook trying to cheat people. Definitely not O2!

They’ve been calling me constantly, barely letting me get a “hello” out before jumping into some 30% discount deal with O2. When I said something about it, they just cut me off. It’s really starting to get on my nerves.
