Got a call from someone saying I had PPI money waiting, supposedly approved already. They left the number above for me to ring back. The caller said they were from PPI and spoke with a really thick foreign accent. Apparently, they were asking for a Henri James. Quite suspicious if you ask me!

BEWARE: This number says it's from a PPI claims company and claimed they've accepted my claim and will send me £1,839 either by cheque or cash - my choice. They said someone local would deliver it today. But they want me to pay a 10% fee first by buying UKASH vouchers, which I can get from the nearby CO-OP or similar stores. After I buy the vouchers, they tell me to ring back, quoting my reference or customer ID, to confirm I've bought the vouchers so they can sort out the payment delivery. Thing is, it’s a total con. When I call back, they ask for the serial codes on my vouchers - and if you give those, it’s basically the same as handing over real money. They use those codes to quickly redeem the vouchers, leaving you with nothing. Definitely a scam.

BEWARE OF SCAM: I got a call from this number saying they’re from a PPI claims firm and that I’m due £1,839, which they can either send me by cheque or cash today via a local agent. But they said I need to first pay a 10% fee with UKASH vouchers, which I’m supposed to buy from places like the local CO-OP. Once I buy the vouchers, they want me to ring back, give them my reference or customer ID, and confirm I’ve got the vouchers, so they can send the money. DON’T FALL FOR IT! When you call back, they ask for the serial numbers on those UKASH vouchers. If you give them, you’re basically handing over the cash value to them, and they’ll use it right away. After that, the vouchers are useless. Total scam. - caller: PPI claims agent
