11 yearsI've just received a rather alarming phone call from this number, with someone purporting to be from Microsoft’s head office based in Glasgow. The caller claimed my computer had a virus and that they could assist me in sorting it out. Naturally, I told them I would verify their credentials with Microsoft before proceeding. I’m no stranger to this type of scam, and I couldn’t help but notice that the chap, who introduced himself as Mark, seemed to be of Asian descent, possibly Indian.MicrosoftGlasgowMark12 yearsI received a call from this number today, and the chap on the other end had a distinctly Indian accent, attempting to pull off the classic Microsoft ruse. I decided to have a bit of fun with him, informing him I owned five computers, none of which were powered on, and queried how he’d managed to ascertain which one was supposedly compromised. He went on to claim that they were likely all affected. I mentioned that I’d reach out to my software engineer mate to have a look at it, and asked for his details. He provided the name Mike Manders, along with the phone number, claiming to be based in Glasgow. Best to steer clear of this one, as it’s clearly a scam, and the discrepancies in his alleged location and the number itself raise major red flags.MicrosoftMike MandersGlasgowSubmit Your Own Report (020 3286 6013)
