8 yearsSome lady named ‘Jessica’ gave my dad a ring - he’s got dementia. When he got in touch with me, he was a bit muddled but managed to jot down her name and number. She said they wanted to come see him that afternoon to sort out a £3,000 PPI claim. Trouble is, dad’s got no PPI claim and nothing to claim at all. I called the number and told them to never bother us again. What’s the trick here? Do they earn from the call itself, or are they after bank details and stuff? Dad says he didn’t share any info, but I’m worried he might have forgotten if he did.Jessica8 yearsSomething similar happened to my dad, who’s got dementia! He even has a call guard feature set up on his phone. I decided to call them back and told them if they rang once more, I’d be reporting it to the cops. The people on the line didn’t seem very professional, with Indian accents and all. A bloke picked up initially, then I was passed on to a woman when I asked for someone named ‘Jessica’ who supposedly called.Jessica8 yearsSome bloke called himself Mr Wilson and claimed he had £3000 to drop off today!! Weirdly enough, he never showed up at all!Wilson8 yearsGot a call from this number saying I was owed PPI from Lloyds, which wasn’t true at all. Tried asking them to call me back but no luck. Be careful, could be a scam!Lloyds Bank8 yearsSomeone claiming to be from my bank called, but they couldn't even talk proper English. Total scam, I reckon.8 yearsHe asserted he had a cheque related to PPI, which was rather concerning as he claimed to represent Barclays Bank.Barclays Bank8 yearsI've repeatedly instructed these folks to stop calling me regarding some supposed PPOI claim, yet they persistently ring me with alarming regularity. They assure me time and again that they'll remove my number from their records, but clearly, that's not happening. Just a word of warning for everyone out there-stay on your toes, as you might be the next target! Exercise caution, my friends.9 yearsI received a rather dubious call from a chap claiming to be named Alex, who insisted that my Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) was all sorted and that a driver would soon be popping by to deliver cash in hand. I couldn’t help but recall my previous experiences where everything was settled with a cheque instead. When I requested the same this time, he simply brushed me off, stating that wasn’t an option. Quite frankly, he can keep his cash; I'm not keen on any unscheduled visits to my doorstep. If anyone’s interested, here’s the reference number: PPA50813 Customer ID 18081 ALEX.Alex9 yearsI received a call from a woman who claimed that my PPI claim had been greenlit, and that we could expect £3,000 as soon as we rang this number. Quite amusing, considering we’ve never taken out a loan or submitted any claims. It seems they've changed their approach lately!Submit Your Own Report (020 3286 5885)
