I must warn everyone about these con artists. They lure you in by requesting payments via MoneyGram, claiming it’s just the first instalment for a loan that will magically appear in your bank account within a quarter of an hour. But it’s all a ruse! After I forked out £100, they then demanded an additional £256 for taxes supposedly owed to HM Revenue & Customs before I could access the loan. At that point, I began to realise something wasn’t right, and I asked for my money back. Shortly after, I received a call from a number ending in 01905, purporting to be HMRC and asking for more money. All of these individuals had distinctly Indian accents and operated under the name quick loan shop Ltd, which, ironically, is a legitimate business-these crooks are merely exploiting its name. They introduced themselves as "Robin Mathews" and "Richard Maxwell," but I suspect those aren’t their real names. I’ve already reported this to Action Fraud and MoneyGram, so an investigation should begin shortly. If anyone else has fallen prey to these despicable thieves who target those in financial dire straits, please step up and report them to Action Fraud so they can gather more evidence and take action. I hope these unscrupulous individuals are apprehended so that no one else has to feel deceived or foolish.
