Got a call from someone overseas about a little crash I supposedly had, which I never did. I did put my car up for sale on Gumtree, that’s probably why. Anyway, I ended up blocking the number and also reported it to the TPS.

I've just had a bunch of calls too, all about a car I've supposedly got on Gumtree. They kept ringing me about six times every day last week, and then again today! I told them straight up I don’t have a car, but they insisted I do. I told them to get lost and hung up. Then they had the nerve to call back saying they're ‘the law’ or something. Ridiculous!

They wanted me to send photos of my passport and National Insurance number - total identity theft attempt. I looked up the address they gave and it turned out to be a home in Bristol, with no business whatsoever registered there.

Loads of scammers from India grab numbers off Gumtree ads, so don’t hesitate to tell them off with whatever rude words come to mind. They totally deserve it for trying to rip people off. Seriously, don’t be shy, call them out however you want. I do all the time, and they can’t stand it. They’re usually ringing from 020 numbers anyway.

So, this person said they were from RAW traffic management, telling me I’d been in a car crash that wasn’t my fault. Bit of a familiar story that one. I reckon they might have got my number from an advert I put up on Gumtree, as I don’t usually get loads of random calls on my mobile.

I put my car up for sale on Gumtree and got a call from this number saying I'd been in an accident, which is a right laugh. I picked up, and they couldn’t give me any real info. Coincidentally, I did have a crash a couple of years back, but this was nothing to do with that. Total scam, just hang up if they call you.

Right after I put up an ad on Gumtree, this bloke with a thick accent rings me up claiming I’d been in some accident. I asked him which one, told him I’ve probably had 700 this year and joked that I must’ve got my licence from a chocolate egg or summat. He got proper annoyed and started swearing at me for messing him about, haha.

Whenever I get a call from an unknown number, I usually google it first and see what other folks have said about it before deciding to block it. Funny thing is, I’ve also listed a car for sale on Gumtree recently, so I’m used to dealing with random numbers!

Got a call from this number, but I’m sure it’s a scam. I only use that mobile for Gumtree and none of my mates have that number saved. Definitely seems dodgy.
