Earlier today, I got a call from 02032860384. A guy named David Johnson said he was from some Government Claims Regulations Department and told me I'd be getting a cheque for £5,000. He mentioned a woman called Jennifer Watson would be bringing it over at 3:30pm. But then he said I’d have to cough up £275 for income tax first. When I told him I don’t pay tax, he just ended the call straight away!

I got a call from 02032860384, the bloke said his name was Kelvin Bell. He claimed I was due a £5000 cheque but first I had to buy an Amazon voucher worth £260 as a sort of tax payment. Then he told me a woman named Linda Edwards would show up at my place within about an hour and half with the cheque. He said she’d ask for ID and that I had to sign some papers she’d bring along. Seemed fishy as hell to me - definitely a scam!

Loads of scam calls from these lot, usually trying to get you into some dodgy loan, insurance, PPI or fake phone bill deal. I’ve had probably over 10 calls a day from them for days on end. No matter how many times I block one number, they just ring from another like ‭020 3936 1505‬ or those US looking ones like +1 442036958720 and +1 442039361505. It’s proper annoying - once you answer once, they keep badgering you non stop.

Got a call from some woman named Max Johnson saying they'd be dropping off a cheque for Annie Frank. The number that showed up was 02032860384. Felt a bit off, so just thought I’d share in case anyone else gets it.

Had a call from this bloke, Paul Gibson, speaks with a thick Indian accent. He said I was owed about £4500 for some PPI thing related to a loan I got ages back. Then he mentioned some woman named Elizabeth who'd ring around midday with a cheque. But before that, I supposedly have to get £225 in iTunes vouchers. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

I got a call from a bloke claiming I was due £5500 from Lloyds bank. He said a lass called Annie Frank would pop round about 2pm with a cheque, but I first needed to nip to Tesco and buy an iTunes gift card worth £55 to cover some ‘1% tax’. He said he worked for a government dept called claims management or summat. Total scam, don’t fall for it.

This bloke called me, sounded like he might be from Africa or somewhere similar, but right away he got my name completely wrong (I've been using a different one for over a decade now). I didn’t bother correcting him though. I just said the person he was asking for wasn’t here and asked who he was instead. He said his name was Peter Brown, which sounded totally made up to me. Then, when he probably thought I’d start asking too much, he just cut the call. Seemed dodgy to say the least.

Definitely felt like a scam to me. When I asked the man with the thick Asian accent (his English was pretty poor, which was a red flag) about who he was representing and where he got my info from, things quickly fell apart. Don't trust a word he says - this is a total rip-off!!!

Like Henry mentioned earlier, I received a rather suspicious phone call earlier today. The caller claimed I was owed a refund of £3,000 and proceeded to name a bank I haven’t used in nearly a decade. They then inquired whether I preferred a cheque or a direct deposit into my bank account. Naturally, I refused to provide any bank details and told them to disregard the matter entirely. I’m utterly baffled as to how they obtained my name and phone number, not to mention their knowledge of a bank account I used to have. With the recent data protection laws in place, it seems rather alarming that these types of calls are still occurring.

This guy, sounded Asian, was shouting over loads of noise in the background. He claimed to be linked with the Justice Ministers or something like that. When I pressed him for details, he just suddenly ended the call. Felt like some dodgy scam to me.

Got a call from this number but they didn't leave any voicemail. I rang back and after a few rings it just went silent, like someone picked up then hung up straight away. I don’t usually pick up calls from unknown or blocked numbers, always too suspicious. So I looked it up here, and yeah, definitely sounds shady.

About 5 minutes ago, my missus got a call from someone named Dennis, sounded like he'd got a South Asian accent. He claimed he was ringing from some ‘Government Department’ saying there was a £2500 refund waiting for her, something about PPI. Then he started asking about any loans or mortgages we might have. Total scam, no doubt, we just cut the call straight away.

My folks had a call from someone claiming they had £3000 in compensation from PPI for them and asked for their bank details. They said they preferred a cheque instead, and this Margaret Simpson was supposedly going to drop it off at their place, but only after they filled out some paperwork. When my parents asked for the caller’s name, their company, and location, the line just went dead.

Got a phone call this morning from someone claiming to be Julie Shaw, chatting away for about 15 minutes. She said she'd be dropping by today with a cheque for £5000, but I needed to pay £100 tax first using a One For All card. When I told them it sounded like a total scam and asked which government department they were with, they just suddenly hung up. Not sure if they really planned to turn up and grab the card once I got the so-called cheque, which supposedly would clear in half an hour!

They have been ringing me a bunch of times, and every single time it's either dead silence or they say something about a claim for me. I just end up hanging up. How long do they think this will keep working?

They’ve rang me a few times now, but it’s either just silence or this person tells me they’ve got some claim for me. I always end up just hanging up. Not sure when they’ll realise I’m not interested.

Just got a call from someone calling himself Harry Jackson, sounded like he had an Indian accent. He told me they’d managed to claim back £2500 and were sending me a cheque, which apparently a Julie Shaw would hand-deliver. Then they started asking for money before the cheque could be handed over. Honestly, I hope no one falls for this trick, it smells like a total scam!

I received a call from a chap named Mr Johnston, who insisted he had a cheque for £3,000 waiting for me-apparently compensation for a "mis-sold" PPI claim they supposedly filed on my behalf, unbeknownst to me. Oddly enough, he had my address on hand and said they intended to deliver the cheque in person, assuring me it would clear within half an hour! They inquired about when I'd be available to receive this so-called cheque. What really caught my attention was them referencing a loan I took out prior to 2003. I firmly expressed my disinterest in their offer, yet they kindly provided a phone number for me to call back should I reconsider. I haven't reached out, though. Also, I couldn't help but notice there were voices in the background that sounded distinctly foreign.

Some scammer called saying they were from a government claims dept, said I was due a £4000 PPI refund. Then they tried to get me to buy iTunes vouchers or something to cover tax fees. Totally dodgy.

So, this supposed government agency kept ringing me up about some PPI and bank fees claim. It was like shaking off a bad cold - they just wouldn't back down! They kept insisting they were a legit government department, but honestly, I wasn’t buying it for a second.

Got a call from this number but no voicemail was left. I usually don’t pick up calls from numbers I don't know. If it’s something important, they can always drop a message, right? That’s how I see it anyway!

They called me, asked for my name, said something about the claims department and then just hung up. A different number called earlier and did the same thing, no talking at all. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with probate?

At 1pm today, Peter Psilolan said some women would be ringing about a £3000 cheque. Not sure what it's all about really.
