Got a call from a lady with an Asian accent saying I was hacked and that she was calling on behalf of Bt to fix it. She left me this number to ring back. Totally seemed like a scam to me.

Got a call from this number claiming my phone line was hacked. They tried to get me to press the windows key plus 'r', then type in EVENTVWR which opened a strange black box. After that, they told me to enter [#]btsupport.page.tl which led to a fake BT website popping up. The plan was to make the system crash and then charge me to fix it. I’d say avoid answering altogether - they didn’t follow any data protection rules and didn’t even have my right info.

My partner got a phone call from someone saying they were from BT, warning about our account being hacked from several places around the UK. I phoned the number back and they said they were the "BT Support Team". They wanted me to get on my computer so they could supposedly block those places. I told them I'd ring back later when I was at home. Needless to say, I’ll never be calling them again!
