Got a really scary automated call from someone claiming to be HMRC, said I had a warrant out for my arrest if I didn’t pay up. Proper threatening tone too.

My 90 year old grandad got an awful voicemail saying he had a legal case and a warrant out for his arrest! Honestly, these scammers really shouldn't be allowed to get away with frightening people like that! It's just so wrong.

I've had a few calls from 02032860050 this week, like three times. I know HMRC never phones like that. Tried getting info on how to complain against anyone pretending to be from HMRC, but it's hard. Also got a solicitor involved to sort this out. Feels like they think we’re daft, but honestly, just one person falling for it a day keeps these scammers going. It’s long overdue that these numbers get blocked as soon as someone reports them.

I got a voicemail from 02032860050 and just like the others have said, when I called back nobody picked up. Now I’m just worried if calling them means I’ll get charged for it?

I received a rather alarming automated message purporting to be from the police, mentioning something about legal action from HMRC. It was quite unsettling at first, but then I had a moment of clarity. Firstly, it's clear that HMRC would reach out directly to an individual rather than through a middleman, and secondly, it's a pre-recorded message, which means they have no clue who they're actually reaching out to! I've taken the step to block that number now.

02032860050 is the number that upset my mum badly, she got a call and was so shook she ended up coming over to mine but then had a bad fall because she was so stressed out. I’m really keen to dig into this and see what can be done about it. If anyone has any ideas on how to get on top of this, please shout. I’m not just gonna brush this off.

WARNING - dont pick up this number!! Got a call on my home phone and they left a voicemail pretending to be from HMRC Tax. They said I was going to be arrested and taken to court because of an open case, then told me to ring back on 02032860050. This kind of call can really scare people, so be careful out there!!!

I got a voicemail from someone pretending to be HMRC saying there’s a warrant for my arrest and to ring a certain number to sort things out. I think the whole scam is about getting folks to call that number. It was pretty unnerving at first, even though I knew it was dodgy, and I can see how older people might really freak out hearing that.

This number called my mum and dad pretending to be from HMRC. Both of them are unwell and the stress of being told they owe a huge amount of money and might end up in prison has really upset them. I've already reported the number to the police.

Got a call from 02032860054, they left a message claiming to be HMRC and said there’s a warrant out for my arrest! Thankfully, all my tax stuff is handled by my accountant and tax expert, so I knew straight away it was a scam. My missus was well worried as she took the call when I wasn’t home. Just a heads up, this is definitely a fake call, don’t fall for it!

Got a call like this myself. Some dodgy bloke rang my 87 year old mum saying she owed the tax office a load of money and threatened her with arrest and court if she didn’t pay up. Mum was really shaken and didn’t know what to do. Honestly, the police should get involved with cases like this.

Honestly, what’s the point of the TPS if they cant keep our numbers safe? Feels like such a bloody waste of effort. They’re supposed to protect us but they don’t seem to be doing squat.

I got a call from 02032860054 the other day, left a voicemail pretending to be HMRC saying there was an arrest warrant for me! Thankfully, my tax stuff is all handled by professionals so I instantly knew it was a load of rubbish, but I worry some folks might fall for it.
