I received a call from a bloke yattering on about home repairs. He was relentless and wouldn't take a hint. When I questioned his motives, he had the audacity to label me a "rude lady"! Then he started making odd sounds before abruptly disconnecting. What a dreadful nuisance these callers are!

I picked up the phone, and immediately I knew it was a call centre. There was a slight delay before someone came on the line, which made me think it was probably some sort of automated system. When the caller finally introduced themselves with a cheery "good afternoon, how are you?", I decided then and there to end the conversation. I promptly hung up and added the number to my blocked list.
