I received a call from someone claiming they could lower my EE bills for the coming year, insisting that as a long-standing customer, I was entitled to a more favourable rate. I decided to hang up; it seemed too good to be true, and I suspect it was a dodgy scam.

Today at 1:26pm on Tuesday, I got a call from this number which lasted about 5 minutes. The person on the phone claimed to be from EE Mobile and said I was a loyal customer who always pays my bills promptly. He mentioned that because of this, I deserve a better deal. Then he offered to reduce my monthly bill from £43 down to £15 if I just confirmed my postcode. That’s when I got suspicious! I told him I’d ring EE directly to check. He abruptly ended the call right after that.
