I just stayed quiet for about 12 seconds, didn't say anything. It felt dodgy, likely a scam call. I've had a few like this on my landline before, all showing London numbers but actually on the BT network, and always trying to trick me by pretending they’re from some utility firm. Seems like they might be calling from overseas, which could explain the pause before picking up, yet the number still looks like it’s local London. BT really ought to fix this gap in their system.
