So, the call never got through cos BT Guardian blocked it, and they didn’t say who it was before trying to connect me. I figured straight away it was probably just another spam call. After checking out what everyone’s saying here, looks like I was spot on. I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from someone saying they were with ASP, trying to tell me my washing machine insurance was about to run out. I knew straight away it was rubbish! So I mentioned I’d looked up the number and it seemed like a scam. The bloke just went ‘oh’ and then hung up on me. Watch out, definitely a dodgy call!

Got a call asking if I had breakdown cover for my washing machine, but I dont have any.

Got a call from someone saying they were from ??? about insurance for our Bosch washing machine. We do have insurance on it, so I asked if they'd cover a problem that just appeared. He told me we'd need to contact Bosch before midnight as our insurance supposedly ends then, otherwise he couldn’t reinsure the machine if it's faulty - that was why he rang. But when I looked at our actual policy, it clearly shows the insurance is good for many more months yet.

Someone rang me saying they were from ASP about covering my washing machine. It was pretty clear it was a scam. As soon as I said I don’t have insurance and don’t need any, they just disappeared. The washer's really old anyway, but it still does the job. If it ever breaks, I’ll just get a new one since parts for it probably won’t be easy to find.

It took an age for them to pick up after I said hello, just like those usual call centre scams. When I told the bloke to find a real job that actually helps people instead of hawking useless stuff no one needs, he got a bit nasty. I asked which company he was calling from and what business they thought they had with me, but he wouldn't say. I'm not one for cold calls and made it clear I wanted my number removed from their list and no more calls, thanks very much.

I got a call from someone who claimed to be with a company but never actually said which one. When I asked why they were ringing me, they just stayed silent. I told them goodbye and hung up. Honestly, it was a pretty odd call.
