11 yearsUtilised by dodgy computer virus intervention firms as a callback number.12 yearsI received a call from someone representing themselves as Microsoft, claiming that my computer was riddled with viruses. The chap sounded quite Indian and introduced himself as Mack, though he burst into fits of giggles when I inquired about his surname. Definitely a suspicious character!MicrosoftMack12 yearsI received a dodgy call from what seemed to be a con artist the other day. The woman introduced herself as Anne Thompson, and then a bloke named Gordon Fornandez - although I’m unsure if that’s quite the right spelling - took over, and he definitely had an Indian accent. They went on about some supposed viruses creeping in on my personal info. What’s more, they insisted that I’m on an unlisted number, and before I could really say anything, the chap just cut off the line. They claimed to be from a firm called X-Infinity Tech, their number being 0203 2399957, although they rang me from a withheld number. I just acted keen to snag their details. Quite the cheek, if you ask me!Anne ThompsonGordon FornandezX - Infinity Tech13 yearsI've had a right nuisance today with this number; they've already rung me seven times! This isn't the first instance, mind you. The caller claimed there was an issue with my Windows 7 system, but I mentioned I’d recently upgraded to the beta version of Windows 8. This clearly baffled her, and she became quite flustered and hard to understand. When I mentioned that I’d looked them up online and found out they were a scam, she actually called me back, raising her voice! After that, she bombarded me with another five calls. I answered a couple, heard her voice, and just hung up again. By the sixth call, I warned her that I would report her to the police if she persisted. Thankfully, I haven't heard a peep since then.Submit Your Own Report (020 3239 9957)
