They claimed to be from HMRC, but it’s a total lie. Proper HMRC would never talk to people like that. I used to work there before moving to border force, so I know how they operate. I told these lot to jog on and even dared them to turn up, saying I’d have them on the floor in handcuffs straight away. Haven’t heard from them since.

Got a robo call from 01163184167 with a message pretty much like the one mentioned earlier. I’ve blocked that number now. Even though I spotted it was a scam right away, it was still quite unsettling. They used the same name, ‘Officer Jennifer Coleman’, who apparently works for the IRS in America. I received a voicemail that claimed to be from Jennifer Coleman's office at HMRC, warning me of impending legal proceedings unless I acted without delay. Given that I've fallen behind on my Tax Return, I thought it was legitimate, so I promptly dialled the number again. It rang several times before switching to an engaged signal. Feeling uneasy, I decided to search online for a different contact number and stumbled upon numerous posts stating that it was indeed a scam. This sort of thing really needs to be put to an end!

In just a couple of days, I've had 8 calls. Two of them were from some Jennifer Coleman at HMRC, with an automated voice telling me to ring back or face a lawsuit. Then there were six calls from BT, claiming my computer was infected with a virus. Each time I told them they should feel bad for trying to con innocent folks like me, they hung up straight away. What a nasty scam!

Honestly, these folks are pretty dodgy. They rang my elderly mum and left a voicemail about some supposed legal action coming up. Being a bit trusting, she rang them back and talked for a couple of minutes before she caught on that it was all a bit off and ended the call.
