I got a call saying I needed to upgrade my SIM because the signal was poor, but if I was to pop into the shop for that, it would cost me £50. O2 wouldn’t ever charge you like that. Definitely a scam, don’t hand over any details.

Apparently there’s an issue with the reception or signal on my O2 SIM or account, so they want to send me a replacement SIM card to pop in my phone. Umm, how about I just say... no cheers?

My kid got a call from a lady who had an Indian accent, and there was loads of noise in the background. She said she was from Barclays and told my kid that their credit score was good and they’d qualify for a credit card. My kid told her it’s against the law to issue credit cards to minors, but the woman kept insisting she could sort it out and asked for bank details. We ended the call and immediately blocked the number.

Got a text looking like it was from Barclays saying that £1257.45 had been charged at John Lewis. Felt a bit dodgy so I checked it out, turns out it wasn’t legit. Be careful with these kinds of messages!

Got a text about a £1257 purchase on my Barclaycard at JOHN LEWiS with a one-time passcode. It said to ring 020 3239 7616 if I didn’t know what it was for. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

Someone called me pretending to be from Barclays, asking if I’d bought something expensive from Curry’s, over £1000, and said to ring them back if I hadn’t. Sounded dodgy to me.
