I received a call from someone claiming to be O2, offering an astonishing 40% reduction on my bills. They informed me that to receive the paperwork, I’d need to pay £30 upfront, which they assured me would be refunded later. To top it off, they were laying out some mind-blowing offers for a phone contract, including a complimentary phone and tablet! Quite the bizarre experience, to say the least.

I received a rather puzzling call from someone who said they were from Royal Mail. They insisted that I needed to cover the cost of a stamp because the sender had apparently sent something without one. The accent was quite unfamiliar, could have been Indian, but I really couldn't pinpoint it.

Total scam, but remarkably persuasive! They requested a fee of £1.55 for some supposed unpaid postage, yet they were clueless about the origin of my parcel. When I questioned how she had my name and number if she had no idea where the parcel was from, she claimed to possess only limited information. I probed further and asked if my refusal to pay would result in the parcel being sent back; she ominously declared they would simply destroy it, a statement I find rather suspect, given that Royal Mail would never do such a thing. In the midst of our conversation, I decided to look up the number online, only to find it flagged as a scam. The moment I mentioned this, she abruptly ended the call! Quite dodgy behaviour, if you ask me.

Total con, but incredibly persuasive. They knew my name and contact number.

Gave them a ring but they didn’t bother leaving a voicemail. Did a little digging and discovered that 020 3239 7523 is likely a scammer’s number. I've gone ahead and blocked it.

Received a call from someone purporting to be with Royal Mail, specifically from their North London office, claiming they had a parcel addressed to me that needed payment before it could be delivered. They mentioned the initials of the sender, which coincidentally matched those of a friend of mine. However, that friend confirmed he hadn't sent anything my way. After a quick search online, I stumbled upon similar reports. Clearly a scam. Best to steer clear of it!

I received a call from a woman claiming to be from Royal Mail, insisting that I needed to settle a postage fee. I informed her that I wasn’t interested in the parcel and requested that it be returned to the sender. Suddenly, she just cut the line! Definitely a scam!

What a scam! They were pretending to be from Royal Mail, claiming that there’s a parcel awaiting collection. I mentioned I’d be heading to my nearest depot to pick it up myself, and suddenly, they just cut the call! Typical dodgy behaviour, really.

I received a call from a woman who had a foreign accent-possibly Eastern European-but her English was quite fluent. She informed me that I had a parcel from RM awaiting collection and offered to provide me with further instructions to retrieve it. When I inquired if there was a number I could use to return her call, she mentioned the same number from which she had called. I thanked her for her time and ended the conversation. Interestingly, as mentioned by another commenter, I am indeed expecting an RM parcel, which makes me wonder how they knew I might be more likely to fall for such a scam.

Like many before me, I received a call purporting to be from Royal Mail. When I requested the address linked to the supposedly undelivered parcel, they replied that "only the delivery team possesses that information." I then insisted that they have someone from the delivery team ring me directly to provide the details regarding this so-called parcel. At that point, they hastily ended the call. Quite clearly a scam!

I just had a rather peculiar call from the same number. The caller wouldn’t stop hounding me about a payment, so I intervened and asked her who she was representing and where this parcel was supposedly from, as I hadn’t made any orders. At that point, the call abruptly ended!

Beware of this dodgy scam! They called me claiming I had a parcel arriving from London and requested a fee of £1.55. However, when I mentioned I wasn’t expecting anything, they abruptly hung up! It’s impossible to get through if you attempt to return the call. Stay vigilant!

I received a call from a scammer for the very first time today - typically, they're more inclined to send messages. They claimed to have a parcel waiting for me in London, offering either to collect it or to pay for a delivery service. It was clearly a scam, and they hung up straight away when I started to ask questions. Watch out for this!

What a sham! I received a call claiming to be from Royal Mail, insisting that I needed to cough up a fee to retrieve a parcel. When I suggested it seemed dodgy, the caller assured me they were above board. I requested a reference number, and she rattled it off so quickly I could barely catch it. When I asked her to repeat it for clarity, she sped through it again, mentioning it might not yet be in their system. My gut feeling screamed scam, so I ended the call. I tried to ring the number back, but lo and behold, the call wouldn’t connect. What a farce!

Absolutely a dodgy operation, they claimed there was a package awaiting me with Royal Mail, which immediately raised my suspicions. I informed them that I would contact Royal Mail directly with the reference number and settle it online. When she failed to provide any reference whatsoever, I promptly terminated the call.

I received a phone call from a number associated with this individual. The caller claimed that I had a parcel on the way, even detailing its weight and size, and mentioned that the sender hadn't applied the right postage. I was then given two choices: settle the payment immediately over the phone or do it later on the Royal Mail website. They asserted that I'd been sent an email with all the necessary information, yet after scouring my inbox multiple times, I found nothing at all. I usually pride myself on spotting scams from a mile away, but this one was quite convincing...rather impressive, if I’m honest! The person on the other end was talking at a rapid pace, with what I believe was an Indian accent, and there was an undeniable sense of urgency in their manner. Interestingly enough, I am indeed waiting for an international parcel to arrive... However, what troubles me is how they managed to obtain both my name and phone number. A word of caution to everyone out there. When I attempted to call the number back, it wouldn’t connect. I can’t ever recall Royal Mail randomly reaching out to me like this. Stay vigilant, everyone! :)

As others have pointed out regarding like-minded scams, the individual behind this dodgy business is located at 21a Plymouth Road, Barnt Green, Birmingham, B45 8JF. This number is tied to a con artist named Stuart Wright. It’s no surprise he resides in a lavish mansion valued at several million; he’s been busy tricking unsuspecting folks out of their hard-earned money!

I received a rather dubious call earlier today from a woman who had a distinct Indian accent. She claimed to be representing Royal Mail and stated that I had a parcel from Amazon, but curiously, the shipping fees were unpaid. According to her, it was a modest package and I was required to cough up £1.55. I found it rather odd, as I’m not awaiting any deliveries from Amazon, and as far as I’m aware, they always demand payment for postage right when the order is made. As soon as I brought this to her attention, she promptly ended the call. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

I had a rather peculiar encounter with someone purporting to be from Royal Mail. When I inquired about the whereabouts of my parcel, she stated it was in Edgeware Road, which is quite a distance from my location. I suggested they could hold onto the package, and to my surprise, she abruptly hung up on me! Quite unprofessional, I must say.
