I received an email from someone claiming to be with rrdonelley, saying they had contact info for GFS Logistics. But GFS Logistics shows different contact details on their site. I messaged them to check if this was some kind of alternate number for GFS, and after reading stuff like this, I'm quite certain it was a phishing attempt. Definitely not gonna pay for this bogus rrd contact.

This morning at about 1:15pm, I got a call from this number and the lady on the phone sounded really rude. She claimed there’d been a car accident involving us, but I just checked with my husband who’s on his lunch break, and we only have one car, so it’s obviously a scam. I told her to stop calling and then blocked the number. They’ve called us three times before but I never picked up because I don’t answer calls from unknown numbers. This is getting annoying.

Someone phoned asking about my life insurance, but I don’t have any. I hadn’t looked up the number before, but I’ve had repeated calls for months. Every time I tell them I’m not insured, they claim they’ll update their info, yet they keep ringing. Not sure what would happen if I actually had insurance, but it all feels a bit sketchy, especially since the number has been linked to all the other dodgy calls mentioned here.

Got a phone call claiming to be from 'Marks & Spencer' doing a survey. I said I'd ring back once I got their Head Office or branch number (even though it was on my caller ID). They refused to give it and kept pushing me to verify who I was (which was wrong). Then they just hung up.

I received a call from an Asian individual claiming to represent the Nationwide Building Society on Saturday, 15th October 2016. Truth be told, I've never had any dealings with that bank whatsoever. Our mates over at Action Fraud have warned me that this is likely a courier scam. It appears these scammers are now shifting their focus onto banking-related ruses since it seems there’s not quite enough dosh in computer scams these days.

I got a call from a guy with an Asian accent who said something about us getting loads of telemarketing calls. I told him I owned the landline he mentioned and also said he had my name right. I thanked him for supposedly sorting the issue and then we hung up. Definitely not a genuine call, but it seemed a pointless call for both sides really.

Got a call from an Asian bloke claiming he was from Windows support, said there were hackers messing with my account. Asked me to sit at my computer so he could "help". When I told him I actually use a Mac, he just lost it and started shouting all sorts, calling me daft and worse. Honestly, it was pretty funny. I saw through the scam right away but I reckon some people might fall for it.

I've had roughly eight missed calls from this number. The callers, both men and women, claim to be from BT discussing my internet service. It's curious, given that I have no internet at home and am relying on the public computers at my local tourist information centre, just like I am today. I usually pass the time by leading the caller into a bit of a daft conversation, tossing out some silly remarks and questions until they reach the end of their patience and finally give up.

02031988079 has rung me 3 times today. Each time a man with an Asian accent said that my phone and internet would be disconnected in 2 hours because of some technical issue. When I asked how long it would last, he said he didn’t know and told me to switch on my computer or iPad, then tell him when it was done so he could guide me. Something felt off, so I asked a few more questions and he just hung up! Watch out for this scam, it’s really suspicious.

These scammers have phoned me thrice over the last couple days, all with Asian accents. They try to trick me into letting them access my computer to fix some made-up problem. Mostly, I just put the phone down. Last time, I asked where they were calling from and the bloke said ‘BT in Newgate Street’. I then quizzed him about the weather there and, unsurprisingly, he didn’t know. When I told him he was a scammer and should be ashamed, he started shouting loads of nasty words. They’re using a BT number. Surely BT must be able to track this and stop it, right?

Today, I received a rather dubious call from a chap named 'Ron'. He claimed to hail from BT and warned me that my internet connection had been compromised by shady characters. Quite alarming, isn't it? But fear not, for the valiant Ron was on hand to assist! All he required was for me to visit www.support.me, enter a mysterious code, and kick off a download. I played along for a bit, fully aware that this was just a con, and I managed to waste around ten minutes of his time before casually inquiring if he was familiar with the term C*nt. He wasn't, so I took the liberty of broadening his vocabulary before he abruptly ended the call. I've now added his number to my blocked list. It's quite disheartening that these scammers can squander so much time, and I dread to think how many unsuspecting individuals might fall prey to their tricks.

At present, I’m making use of a complimentary service known as "Call Guardian," provided by BT. This nifty tool ensures that only those numbers saved on my phone - such as my nearest and dearest, mates, and my doctor’s office - can get through seamlessly. For any unknown callers, the Call Guardian prompts them to announce their name before it connects me, giving me the option to accept the call. More often than not, the scammers hang up at this point, preventing their calls from ever reaching me. I used to endure about three nuisance calls a day, but ever since I activated Call Guardian, my phone has been blissfully silent on that front.

My approach was a bit varied. "You reached out to us concerning a potential virus - fret not as it’s merely an issue with performance, and we’re here to resolve it for you. We just require you to boot up Windows; it should only take about a quarter of an hour or so," or something along those lines. Looking back, I should have pieced together more details before ending the call, but instead, I threw out a few inquiries like, "Which device are we discussing?" "Who got in touch with you?" and "What’s your knowledge of me?" (To which he cheekily responded that he had my number!). I found it quite straightforward to disengage, but someone with a kinder disposition or lacking in tech prowess could easily fall victim to such tricks. Generally, I pick up the phone with a simple "Hello" instead of my name, as I prefer not to hand over any info they wouldn’t already possess! I typically avoid these conversations unless I’m the one ringing a verified contact.

I figured out it was a scam just by the number, so I blasted them with an air horn, their poor ears must be ringing now, definitely deserved it lol.

So annoying, I said my name and then after a pause this woman's voice just said "Goodbye" - has happened loads of times. I reckon they might be testing if someone’s home before ringing again, but I was actually just about to leave. Glad I saw the comments here, and I’m definitely on the TPS list. Happened on 14th October around 12.53pm.

They were ringing me earlier but I missed the call, glad I can see who's been calling now.

This number has called me loads over the past few weeks. Most of the time, no one answers, just some robotic voice saying goodbye - sounds like one of those automatic diallers. When someone actually talks, it’s usually a person with an Asian accent and you can hear loads of noise like they’re in an office. I'd say just block the number, it’s not worth it.

There was complete silence for a bit, then an automated voice came on and just said, 'Goodbye'.

A lady rang claiming to be from BT and said my computer was in danger and they would cut off my internet. I asked for their address and she just hung up. Total SCAM, watch out!

COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL! An Indian lady called looking for someone who doesn’t live here anymore and then yelled at me over the phone.

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who said she was from BT, saying there was an issue with my internet. I told her I wasn’t a BT customer, and she said that all companies use BT lines anyway. I just said maybe I have internet, maybe I don’t, and then she just hung up on me.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent showing on my phone as an 0203 number. He claimed he was calling from BT and wanted to talk to the property owner about the BT line. I told him that was me, and he then said there was an issue with my internet connection. I found that odd since I was already online and everything seemed fine. I just ended the call after that.

Got a call from someone named Dave claiming he was from BT, saying they were about to cut off my broadband for a few days because of loads of errors on the line. Didn’t let him finish, told him to get lost and hung up straight away!

I just asked who was calling in a stern tone, and then the call suddenly dropped! The person sounded like an Asian guy.

Got a call from a woman saying she was with BT, sounded Indian and the background was full of call centre chatter. She said my accounts were about to be hacked and asked for my info to stop it. I told her, "How long have you been pretending to be BT but actually a hacker?" She didn't like that and just hung up on me!

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent pretending to be from BT, saying my internet was under attack. I told him I was about to leave and couldn’t sort it then. He asked where I was heading, and I told him it wasn’t his concern. Then he suggested meeting up for a coffee! I flat out said no and hung up. The same number kept ringing me at least 6 more times over the next 5 minutes. Pretty sure he didn’t buy it! This kind of thing could be really distressing and risky, especially for older people having to handle these calls.

Got loads of calls from this number the last few days, like 12 times! Picked up this morning by chance. Some Asian guy said he was with Microsoft and my computer had a virus. I just decided to mess with him. He started telling me to click this and that, asking what was on my screen. I said it was just my nice screensaver. He kept saying I wasn’t listening and told me to click again. I said, still just my screensaver. Didn’t even have my laptop near me! He got really annoyed, told me I was winding him up and hung up.

Is there any way to put an end to these nuisances? It's just as distressing as encountering unsavoury characters on the street - their behaviour is nothing short of criminal and it raises serious concerns that can have long-lasting consequences. I find myself anxiously waiting for crucial calls from my doctors, only to be disturbed by this nonsense! Honestly, where are the relevant authorities when you need them the most?

This lady had an Indian accent and you could hear a call centre in the background. She said she was from BT and told me my computer was hacked and if I didn’t do what she said, my internet would be disconnected. I asked her for a phone number to call back on, then she asked me why I wanted it. When I told her I didn’t trust her, she just ended the call straight away.

I received a call today from someone claiming to be from BT, spouting the same old nonsense. As soon as I pointed out that they weren’t BT, the caller abruptly fell silent mid-sentence! Quite amusing, really.

We just got a call supposedly from British Telecom saying they were going to disconnect our broadband. When I explained we run a business and that wasn’t possible, the bloke told me to 'f... off'. Lovely attitude!

They’re clearly just trying to fish for info and scam you outta whatever they can. I got a call saying there was an issue with my Windows PC, which is hilarious since I’ve got a Mac. I actually switched to Apple ages ago because my Windows laptop kept giving me grief. So when this guy with a thick Asian accent started banging on about my “problem,” I told him exactly where to shove it. He then started swearing and being downright rude. There’s no way these lot are a proper company, just a bunch of cowboys looking for an easy payday.

The bloke just ended the call as soon as I told him I was delighted to get a ring from him. I probably should've let him have more of a go at scamming me, might’ve been entertaining. Next time, "Adam", maybe try and keep track of your made-up name when you ring folks. And if you’re calling from "Windows," at least have a go at selling me some double glazing, yeah?

I've received several calls from this number, but I've started ignoring them altogether now.
