Earlier this week, a man who called himself "Martin" got in touch and asked for me, using my surname to sound legit. He claimed our washing machine insurance had run out on December 31st and said I should renew it through him. I thought it was dodgy straight away - our policy actually lapsed over four years ago! I told him I’d have to ask my wife first. But when I asked for his phone number so I could ring back, he just hung up on me without saying another word.

Got a call about my washing machine warranty expiring, which was obviously a con since my machine’s been ancient for years. I asked for the company’s details and even told them it was a scam, but the guy kept insisting I owned a brand of washer I don’t even have. He was really rude, and when I mentioned I’m on the TPS list, he actually started being quite nasty. This number isn’t even on any do-not-call list, so why do we have to deal with these annoying calls?
