I stumbled upon this number online while attempting to set up my McAfee antivirus, but it just wouldn’t cooperate. It’s becoming increasingly clear that the McAfee webpage was likely a ruse designed to get users like myself to dial this number. The lady on the other end spent nearly 40 minutes prattling on about how our computer was at serious risk of being compromised. She even tried to sell me a firewall package for a staggering £60! In short, I firmly declined and ended the call. To my relief, I discovered that the 30-day McAfee trial we activated upon purchase last week is indeed functioning and protecting us until we can sort out the annual subscription.
