I got a call from this number but my phone has Call Guardian on it, so anyone not in my contacts has to say who they are before my phone will actually ring. Most scam calls just drop off when they hear that because they know I’m not going to answer or get back to them. So yeah, this one didn’t go anywhere.

Got a call about boiler insurance, which I didn’t need at all. Told the person that my home insurance already covered it, but she kept pushing. That’s when I got suspicious - who exactly are these people? I said, “I already pay that through my energy provider.” They answered, “We’re the same company.” I replied, “I need to see everything in writing before agreeing to anything - send it to my home.” Suddenly they hung up. Sounds like a scam to me. I’m going to report the number to the ICO - they do actually listen and take stuff seriously, I’ve put in complaints before about dodgy calls and they sorted it out. If you get calls like this, definitely report them too. If enough people complain, something gets done about it.

Got a call from 02031908773, sounded like some recruitment or marketing firm with a recorded message. I just hung up straight away and blocked the number. Definitely a cold call.

Never ever share your personal info with strangers over the phone. I got scammed by someone pretending to be from Amazon, and it was so real I totally believed them. Luckily, I borrowed another phone and rang my bank straight away, as they’d started taking money out of my account, £500 chunks, all up to about £24k! Thankfully, the bank managed to get the money back after 8 whole weeks. The guy at the bank said I was super lucky because the person they helped just before me lost £17,000 for good 😲. My advice? Don’t pick up calls from numbers you don’t know. If it’s someone you know, ask them to leave a voicemail instead. By picking up random calls, you let scammers know your number is in use, which just puts you at risk. Seriously, please be careful and don’t answer calls from unknown numbers 🙏🙏🙏.

I got a call claiming to be from Greenwich Loans, and since I actually live in Greenwich, I nearly fell for it. The guy asked for my name, date of birth, bank info and even my driving licence details. Luckily, just as he put me on hold, I glanced online and realised something fishy was going on, so I ended the call and blocked the number. I’m just waiting now to see if my bank gets bombarded with random debits haha. Honestly, don’t be a muppet like me - always check numbers on the web before giving out your info!

I got a call about a loan I never asked for. When I told them that, they kept asking who had requested it. I said I had no idea who they were, and then the bloke started swearing at me, using some really nasty language. I tried calling back to speak to their manager, and guess what? The same guy answered, said he was the manager, and launched into more insults. Proper rude!
