Totally a scam, no doubt! This bloke called me up all proper-like and said my washer's warranty had run out. I asked him what brand it was, and he said "Whirlpool." Thing is, I don't have one of those at all. I told him he was wrong, and he just snapped back, shouting, "What a terrible man you are!" Clearly didn’t appreciate being called out as a con artist!

Whenever we get a call from an unknown number, we just answer but stay silent. I usually hit "mute" and let it ring out. I don't see why they shouldn't be charged for making those calls??

got a call from someone saying he was from "appliance plan uk", wanted to speak to me - said his name was "archie". He started on about my washing machine insurance ending on 9th April. Told him i'd need to look over my documents as i never agree to stuff on the phone. guess what happened? he cut me off straight away! didn’t even get time to ask what brand my washing machine was. also pretty sure my insurance is still valid for a couple more months anyway.

i called to arrange a washing machine service plan but as soon as they asked what company i was with, the call just got cut off. quite dodgy if you ask me!

Got a call from some guy with really good English, talking about appliance insurance - sounded proper dodgy to me. When you pick up, everything goes quiet for a bit before you hear that annoying crunching noise. Definitely a scam call centre, and I'm pretty sure the number was spoofed. Watch out for this one!

Some woman called me claiming she was from Ocean and said our washing machine insurance was up for renewal. Problem is, we've never got insurance with them, and certainly it's not expired.

Got a call from someone who actually knew my name and address, asked if I was the person there. I said no and asked who was calling. He claimed to be Harry, talking about some washing machine cover for my place. I thought it was fishy, told him it sounded like a scam and ended the call.
