I received a call claiming that my washing machine insurance was set to expire this week and that I needed to renew it without delay. I told them I'd need to consult my documents first, promising to ring them back. However, when I attempted to return the call, I found that the number wasn’t recognised. This was baffling, given that I had just renewed my insurance in March. It was clear to me that this was nothing but a con.

Some woman called herself "Sarah" from what she said was KAC or something. She knew my name and where I live and was banging on about insurance for my washing machine, saying it was either a Whirlpool or Bosch. Problem is, I don’t own a washing machine from either of them!

I got a call from someone named Sarac, claiming to be from KAC about insuring my washing machine. It felt dodgy since she had no clue what brand my machine actually was. She said she’d only give me the offer if I handed over my bank info straight away. I told her to send the info through the post and I’d consider it properly. She then said she couldn’t send anything until I agreed to take the insurance. Really suspicious behaviour, if you ask me.
