Heads up everyone, there’s a new scam going around from a guy claiming to be Asian, offering to replace your gas central heating boiler. DON’T FALL FOR IT - it’s a total con. If your boiler really needs replacing, you’d be better off checking the Gas Safe Register online to find a proper, qualified engineer. These dodgy blokes just want to blag your bank info, so watch out!

Got a call from this number a moment ago. A young woman with an Indian accent asked if she was talking to the person who owns the house. She kept giggling a bit and when I told her no, she just started laughing even more. I ended up blocking the number. Feels like it’s probably some kind of scam to me.

Got two calls today from someone wanting to speak to the house owner. I asked straight away who they were and what they wanted. Then they asked if I was family. I said I wouldn't chat unless they gave me their identity and the reason for calling. They said it was about a grant for a new boiler if mine was more than 7 years old. I told them my boiler is fine and ended the call. The second caller asked the same, so I said I'd already talked with someone and to not ring me again before hanging up. I've reported them to the TPS and mentioned this website.
