This number has called us about five times now. We have a rule to never pick up calls from numbers we don’t recognise. Everyone important to us contacts us on our mobiles, and if it’s someone else, they usually leave a voicemail which we return as soon as possible. I’d recommend this approach to others, maybe then these annoying callers will get the hint - though I’m not holding my breath!

Some woman called Claire said she was from the government boiler scheme. When I told her nicely I’m on the TPS list, she started calling me names and had this massive meltdown over the phone. I told her to buzz off, which I guess really got to her because she rang me back five times, sounding properly unhinged each time. She even said she knew where I lived, which was honestly a bit creepy.

Seems like they’re just doing market research about a service linked to the person they mentioned. Definitely not a scam. If you’re not the person they called, they won’t say which service it is since it’s totally against the law to share that info with others.

Pick up the phone! It’s a survey company collecting data for some government study. They only reach out to people who fit the criteria. Give them a hand by answering a few questions. If you’re busy when they ring, just ask them to call back later when you’re free.

Received a telephone call earlier on my landline, someone requested to speak to me specifically, despite the fact that the landline is not registered under my name. They claimed to be from a business known as PWC. My primary concern is how they managed to obtain my name in the first place. It appears highly likely that they were attempting to extract personal information. I simply stated that they had dialed the wrong number. These unsolicited calls are becoming rather tiresome.

I received a phone call for a banking survey, but the person asked for someone else and said they weren't available. They wanted to know when the person would be back, but I replied saying they never will be. The caller, sounding Irish, said okay and mentioned calling again. However, I blocked the number because it's most likely a scam. Although, I'm sure they'll use another number to try again.

A man called me claiming to be from PWC, asking if I had time to answer some questions about a recent financial enquiry I made with Citizens Advice. I told him I wasn’t interested. He seemed okay with that but then asked me how to pronounce the town I said I was from, and then spelled a name out to me. It didn’t sound anything like my town or any place I know. He spoke with a posh English accent and was quite polite. I just told him that wasn’t right and ended the call.

Got a call from a woman with an Irish accent saying she was from (PWC) Price Waterhouse Cooper, saying they'd been hired by Co-operative Bank to do a customer satisfaction survey. I told her I hadn’t heard of any deal between Smile Bank (Co-op) and PWC, so I didn’t wanna continue and just hung up. Later that day, I messaged Smile Bank securely and they confirmed they hadn’t asked anyone to do any surveys for them. BE CAREFUL, this is either a con or some sneaky salesperson trying to get through.

Got a call from a guy with an Irish accent who started asking about how I use my computer and what I know about it. Oddly, the first thing he mentioned was an appeal I’d made last year with HM courts and tribunal appeals - which is legit and specific to me. At first, I thought it might be a real call since he seemed to know about my case, but I’m gonna do some digging and see if this is the real deal or not.

I received a call from a young man with a Northern Ireland accent, who claimed to be from Price Waterhouse in Belfast. He stated that he was conducting a customer survey on behalf of Brittania Building Society, which happens to be the bank I hold an account with. It made me question whether this was a scam, and whether they had obtained my information from a database or if it was simply a lucky guess. Regardless, I chose not to participate in the survey as it was expected to take approximately 15 minutes. The whole situation seemed suspicious and unreliable.
