Received a call at just past eight on Saturday. A chap with an Indian accent introduced himself as Victor. He seemed to know my name and claimed to be representing Talk Talk, saying they had identified a technical issue. I told him to take a hike and slammed the phone down. Normally, I’m quite laid-back, but I've got no time for scammers!

I picked up the call, but there was silence on the other end.

I just got a rather alarming call from some chaps - they even knew my name! They claimed to be ringing about a breach in my broadband security. I told them I’d ring back shortly, to which they agreed. After that, I contacted TalkTalk directly, and they informed me other patrons had received similar calls from that exact number. They assured me that such calls were not their practice and that they don’t provide anti-virus services. The caller's background noise suggested they were in a bustling call centre, likely in India. This isn’t the first instance either; I had a similar call a couple of Saturdays ago from a rather pushy woman who claimed to be from TalkTalk's tech support. When I mentioned that I was quite occupied, she abruptly hung up. Taking calls on behalf of a company with such a lack of professionalism certainly raises red flags about the legitimacy of the situation.

I called my landline, but honestly, I don’t think there’s a soul on Earth who knows that number!

I got a couple of calls from this number, but it was just dead air when I answered. Odd, isn't it?

Like others have mentioned, I came across a call from a gent who sounded like he was either Indian or Pakistani, claiming to be from TalkTalk while using an English name. He mentioned an issue with my broadband and requested that I switch on my computer. This isn't the first time I've been asked to do such a thing, so I told him straight that if he was trying to sell me something, he could save his breath. He repeated his claim of being from TalkTalk and even chuckled a bit, but before I knew it, he hung up on me. I suspect this is a scam, and I reckon anyone using Windows might be particularly vulnerable based on my past chats with similar callers. I've now blocked that number.

I’ve received numerous calls from this number, but there’s never anyone on the line. One time, a chap claimed to be from TalkTalk, insisting I had an issue with my computer. I informed him that I don’t actually own a computer, and he promptly ended the call. I've now blocked the number, yet they persist in attempting to reach me. Quite annoying!

In the past couple of days, I’ve received calls from this number four different times. Every time I pick up, they hang up immediately, leaving me none the wiser about their identity. I've now added them to my contacts as “Avoid picking up” just in case they decide to try their luck again!

I received a phone call from a gentleman who claimed to represent TalkTalk regarding issues with my broadband being compromised by hackers. He proceeded to suggest that I switch on my computer so he could assist me further. I declined his offer, and he was surprisingly courteous, responding with a cheerful “Alright, have a lovely day.” It was a bit unsettling, as he came across as quite convincing.

Received a call claiming to be from Talk Talk. The person on the line requested I verify my identity as the account holder but promptly ended the call when I inquired further about their identity. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
