Picked up the phone but there was no sound and then they just dropped the call.

Got a call out of the blue asking if I needed my oven cleaned.

Got a call from "Living Life" survey recently. I asked them to take my info off their list a few days back, in line with the Data Protection law. Despite that, they’ve called me two more times. I told them I’ll be charging £10 for each call from now on (there’s a legal rule backing this up). Just waiting for them to ring again now!

These individuals must be put in their place! It’s crystal clear they have no affiliation with Talk Talk, Windows, or any reputable organisation. Their grasp of the English language is shockingly poor, and they are undoubtedly con artists. Honestly, don’t entertain them for a second-just cut the line!

It appears that this number has been flagged by Action Fraud and is now inactive, meaning there's no way to return the call. Oddly enough, I’m still receiving calls from that same number. Could it be that there are glitches somewhere, or perhaps you’ve had a mishap of some sort?

This number rang me up at half past three in the morning on Wednesday, 2nd September, and then it called me two times later that same evening on the 4th of September.

I received a phone call from an individual who claimed they had some inquiries to make but seemed entirely unwilling to accept a negative response. The conversation took a rather confrontational turn, which was quite unsettling. All this, mind you, while I'm registered on the Telephone Preference Service.

I've received no fewer than six calls over the past couple of days, and given that my father is undergoing major surgery, I can't simply dismiss any incoming calls. It's incredibly irritating because I've kindly requested them to take my number off their list, yet they just disconnect the call when I confront them. I'm feeling rather exasperated and would be grateful for any assistance. Many thanks in advance.

Get calls from this number all the time. Proper annoying, I just end the call but these daft lot still keep ringing. They really don't take a hint.

Got a call from 02031513551 asking if I was 'the lady of the house', then went on to mention someone who moved out ages ago, like 8 years back. I told them she’s not here anymore and that we’re signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, then they just hung up on me without saying anything else. Hopefully, once the 28 days since our TPS registration are over, these annoying calls will finally cease!

This number has been ringing me loads, sometimes up to 3 or 4 times every day. Most of the time no one picks up, then the call just cuts off. On one occasion, a bloke with an Indian accent asked if I was Mrs ... which is actually my old married name and what my son used to go by when he lived here. When I told him I wasn’t Mrs ..., he just ended the call. Does anyone know how I can block or stop this nonsense?

This number has rung us quite a few times, but coz we've got an answerphone and caller ID, we just don’t pick up if we don’t recognise the number. We’re barely ever at home anyway! It’s good to read other folks’ comments here about their run-ins with these unsolicited calls, definitely useful to get the lowdown on what’s going on. Beabe

02031 513551 Dodgy call. Some bloke called "Max" with an Indian accent claiming to be from the "Windows Tech Support." He asked who used the computer, so I asked him the name he had. He gave me the name of someone who lived at my flat ages ago, like 15 years back. They must be using really old records. I enjoy messing with them until they quit or hang up. I’ve been doing this for ages, but it doesn’t seem to stop them ringing. At least I’m making them waste their time and money.

In the past hour and a half, I've been bombarded with roughly six calls, and every single time they hang up. Earlier today, I had two callers - a chap followed by a lady - claiming they needed to 'repair' my computer. I told them straight that I don’t own one, yet they had the gall to ring me back. It’s beyond frustrating!

This number definitely isn't out of service, even tho it showed the full international dialling code 044 203 151 3551. When I called, there was no answer just silence for a bit, then a click followed by some robotic female voice saying ‘goodbye’. Proper irritating, if you ask me.

This number has called me multiple times too. Today it was just dead silence when I answered. Tried calling back and got a message saying "This number has been suspended due to a fraud probe". From what I’ve seen before, these are probably the scammers pretending they’re from Microsoft with fake “Windows Support” offers.

I received a call from a gentleman who had a rather pronounced accent, reminiscent of either African or Indian origins. He claimed to be representing Microsoft and informed me that nearly half of my computer was malfunctioning due to hacking activities. He insisted he could assist with the issues and proceeded to instruct me to press certain keys on my device. At that point, I decided it would be best to hang up. To my surprise, he attempted to ring me back five times within just five minutes, but I chose to disregard each call!

I received a call from this number, with the caller claiming to be from Windows support. They mentioned that there was some sort of junk file on my computer which was negatively impacting its performance, and they offered to assist in clearing it up. Interestingly, I had a similar call before - the first time it was a chap calling and now it was a woman. They began reading off a script, instructing me to power up my device and whatnot. I can't shake the feeling that these folks are just a bunch of scammers, attempting to gain remote access to people's computers or fish for personal information under the guise of support. When I told them I worked in IT, they abruptly ended the call. It certainly raised my suspicions!

This number has called us thrice now. Each time, there's been no response when we've answered, and they didn't bother leaving a message on the answering machine. Oddly enough, when I attempted to return the call, I got a message saying the number wasn't recognised. Quite peculiar, really!

Got a call at 10:15 in the morning on 15/8/2015 from an Asian lady who started with "It's your computer." I just hung up straightaway. Seems like there isnt much we can do apart from keep alerting folks, especially the older crowd, maybe with short notices on TV or radio now and again. A lot of elderly people dont even have computers, so they’re easy targets for these scams.

Not really sure what that was about. Thought it might be dodgy so I answered but kept quiet, and then they just hung up. This is the second call I've had on the landline today. Honestly, his accent was thick to the point of being virtually unintelligible! He was trying to gather household information, but when I told him I wasn’t keen on participating, he kept prattling on. Scammers targeting people, mostly those with Talk Talk, be careful. If they say they know your info, they probably got it from that 2014 Talk Talk data leak (excluding your payment stuff). They often ask you to open the Windows Event Viewer ('eventvwr'), which just shows error logs that are usually normal and nothing to worry about - Windows and your PC aren’t perfect, so loads of computers have similar errors all the time.
11 years
What they do is try to convince you to download some programme they say will sort out problems on your PC, but really it just lets them take over your machine from afar. Once you catch on to their scam, they often get aggressive and rude. Make sure to warn older people, those who might not be as strong or confident, about this. If you fancy a laugh, you could record your interactions with them and post it online. Just keep in mind these lot are proper crooks, and you should absolutely tell them to get lost (ideally straight to prison).

This was my third attempt at dealing with the same caller; you can imagine the previous two were just as annoying. It’s always the same opening line. When I inquired if they had a computer, it seemed to throw him for a loop as he clearly hadn’t anticipated such a question. I went on to inform him that there was no one by that name residing at my address, but instead of taking it on board, he had the cheek to say I was wasting his precious time before hanging up abruptly. Then he had the audacity to ask for someone named Mrs (Hugget or something similar). I couldn't help but respond in my deeper voice, “Do I sound like a Mrs to you?” That evidently caught him off guard as he swiftly disconnected the call. Today, I received an unexpected telephone call from a gentleman with a distinctive Indian accent around midday.
