Got a voicemail about unpaid taxes saying I’m on an arrest list and to call a number right away, but can’t remember the digits. Then, about an hour later, the same person rings back saying a warrant’s been issued since I didn’t answer. Pretty sure it’s the same lot who left a message 18 months ago saying I was an illegal immigrant and would be deported. They said there’s some legal enforcement thing and I’m gonna get arrested. They asked me to ring 020 3151 1106 or press 5. I just ended the call straight away.

Since 16th November, I've been getting about three or four calls daily, some early in the morning, warning me I'll be arrested for unpaid taxes. I'm aware it's a scam, but it’s really frustrating when you're actually expecting important calls.

Got calls coming in like every other day this week. Just been ignoring them cos I’m pretty certain it’s a scam. I know better than to ring back the number they say, obviously they’re still on the call. Today alone, had 3 calls. It’s seriously too much. Over the past couple of days, this number has called me about 5 or 6 times, claiming I owe taxes and warning of enforcement measures, pretending to be HMRC. Honestly, someone really needs to put an end to this!

Got a call this morning from some sort of robot voice saying I owed tax money - I just hung up straight away. Then when I got back later, there was a voicemail from probably the same bloke but sounding less robotic, saying I’d be arrested if I didn’t get back to them right away. I know all about these scam calls and ignore them, but honestly, older folks might really freak out if they don’t know about these scams. I really think sons and daughters should warn their elderly parents about these dodgy calls, they’re proper scary for people who aren’t tech savvy.

Got a recorded message claiming to be from HMRC, luckily I already knew it was a scam because I’ve been dealing with HMRC myself recently. The call was pretty scary at first, threatening arrest and all. Such a cruel thing to do, especially for older folks or those struggling financially.

I received a similar experience as what others have mentioned. When I called the number, there was this jarring click - it’s baffling where these calls are originating from! A young lady picked up, but let’s just say she wasn’t the brightest bulb on the tree. She had my name, which was a bit unsettling. I told her to consider finding a proper job instead, and I can only imagine how her family would feel about her current gig. I ended up letting a few choice words slip before hanging up. Quite the encounter, I must say!

Woman claimed she was calling from HMRC, saying they had sent two P800 forms to my home and that the police were getting involved. She asked me to verify my birth date. When I said that if she was really from HMRC and this had to do with income tax she should already know it, she told me to be quiet and listen, that she’d explain why she was calling. She then said the police would be at my door later today to arrest me. Bit of a laugh really, considering I’m a Police Officer and my partner works in tax inspections!
