Felt a bit dodgy to me.Carphone Warehouse5 yearsI got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent, claiming he was ringing from Carphone Warehouse. He was pushing this deal for an iPhone 12 Pro Max on a two-year contract for £30 a month. He also promised to cover the cost of my current Sky contract and mentioned a 14-day ‘peace of mind’ return policy. I kept asking if I could ring them back instead, but he dodged the question every time and kept trying to sign me up then and there, constantly talking about this 14-day thing. I was curious about my old iPhone 11 and asked if I could keep it - he said yes! It all just felt a bit fishy. I told him I was busy working and asked him to email me the details instead. Later, I checked with Carphone Warehouse themselves and found out this was a scam since they don’t work with Sky. So, I sent the suspicious email they sent me (no attachments opened) to Action Fraud for phishing. When I asked the guy's surname, he just said “Steve” again, then finally said his full name was Steve Rogers - which my partner pointed out is the name of Captain America! I’ve blocked the number, but I’ve gotten calls from a different mobile number and even a voicemail from the first number I blocked.
