I've had a couple of calls from this number recently. Every time I answer, it’s a recorded warning saying an HMRC officer is trying to get in touch because my National Insurance number has supposedly been involved in fraud. They tell you to press 1 on the keypad or else a warrant will be issued and you'll get arrested. After the first call, I decided to email the national crime agency just to check and they told me any real HMRC official would immediately give you a staff ID number. When I got a second call, I used a different phone and tried ringing the number back, but the reply I got was "the number you have dialled has been recognised". Honestly seems like a dodgy scam designed to scare you into pressing 1 and handing over your NI number so they can misuse it. Just a heads up to be careful.
