Somebody phoned me today claiming to be from "Homesure." They kept insisting they knew about my no-claim status on my kitchen gear, which is rubbish as I've never had any deal with them. When I mentioned that they’d promised I'd get new paperwork in the post - a promise I'd already heard from them a few weeks back - they just hung up. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

I'm beginning to think this might be one of those pesky cold callers or possibly a scam, given that they haven't bothered to leave any message on my voicemail. Quite suspicious if you ask me!

There’s a carpet cleaning service advertising for my town, but this number isn’t from around here at all. They rang yesterday saying they were getting back to us, but my partner kindly asked them not to ring again. Then they called once more claiming the same thing. The guy just kept pushing his sales spiel, so I had to interrupt him a few times before he finally just hung up. Proper cheeky behaviour!

Got a call from 02031374490 at around quarter past twelve. A bloke claimed he was ringing from a carpet cleaning firm nearby. He just kept going non stop, wouldn’t let me get a word in until I ended up shouting at him to shut up. Then he suddenly cut me off. Proper rude experience.

I really can’t figure out what these scammers gain from all this. If they hit your voicemail and there's no one to chat to, they never bother leaving a message. Or if you just ignore their number because it looks unfamiliar, how on earth are they supposed to make any money? Surely they’ve got huge phone bills from all those calls. Plus, I never hear of anyone actually falling for these scams or these calls leading to anything positive for them. Seriously, they need to be shut down!

On 6th December 2019 at around 11:43, I got a call from 02031374490, which I didn’t recognise so I didn’t pick up. I checked this site to see who it was. It’s crazy how these calls keep coming, BT must be raking it in one way or another since they always seem to let these calls through.

Got a voicemail at first, sounded like a real person though it was obviously automated. Then got connected to someone speaking with an American accent. They said they could slash my appliance insurance (which I don’t even have) from £125 a month down to £125 every three months! They had no clue about my existing cover. They actually admitted it was a sales pitch. I had to tell them about the TPS while they kept trying to push this cover on me. In the end, I just hung up.

Some bloke rang me claiming to be from Homecare, saying my kitchen appliance cover wasn’t sufficient. He tried to reassure me it was all okay, but I cut him off to tell him I never had any policy with Homecare. As soon as I said that, he just hung up straight away!

Got two calls from the same number today, they said they were ringing from Homeserve offering cheaper cover for all our kitchen appliances. Bit odd really because we only ever had gas pipe cover with them! When I asked which appliances they meant, they rattled off every possible one. The moment I told them we didn’t have any appliance cover with Homeserve, they just hung up. It’s quite frustrating and honestly a bit risky that people pretending to be from a known company might trick some folks.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Secure My Plumbing or something like that. He told me I supposedly had a contract and insurance with them already and tried to say he could reduce my payments. When I started to ask a few questions, he got quite pushy. I told him I’d ring back in a bit and ended up hanging up on him. Definitely don’t share your number with this bloke - he was lying and really persistent.
