On Tues 15/09/20 at 2:52pm, got another call that was exactly like the ones I’ve been getting from three different numbers. It’s the usual HMRC scam, saying I’m accused of some crime and need to contact them immediately or else face legal trouble. The tone was really aggressive and threatening, just like the others. I’ve had the same messages before from 0207 183 0380 on Mon 14/09/21, and even from a New Zealand number +64 20 3003 4811 back on Tues 01 Sept.

I began pressing them hard about why they were contacting me. I told them they should send me something in writing instead. They got quite rude and, after I refused to share any personal info, they just hung up on me.

Just like everyone else is saying, this was supposedly HMRC saying they'd take legal steps if I didn't ring them back. The automated message even finished with a 'take care,' which was a bit odd. This is the third time I’ve had a call like this, plus another one from 020375804988. I've gone ahead and blocked both numbers now, and I'll be posting a comment about the second number too. Be careful out there and watch who you answer!

I got a call claiming to be from H.M.R.C., warning me about "enforcement measures for criminal conduct!" Seriously, when has an elderly person, stuck at home for over a year due to a broken hip, got the strength to get mixed up in any dodgy business? The only "money laundering" I’ve done is rinsing my coppers - 1p and 2p coins that I've put in a charity box - before dropping them off at the bank. But that stopped years ago since there aren’t any banks within walking distance of my wee Highland village!
