Got calls from them a couple of times today. They only wanted to know the name of my local exchange. After that, they told me to look up a website through Google, but the IP number and address they gave was fake - some place in California. Total scam, avoid it.

This scam is just horrible and really nasty. The message sounds really poorly put together and has loads of mistakes in how it’s said, but like others mentioned, it might frighten people who aren’t very good with the internet and make them panic loads. I think it’s super annoying and totally pointless, but it’s chilling to imagine someone actually falling for it. Lisa Williams, HMRC threats, and fake lawsuits - such rubbish!

This number rang us two times today. The first call was a woman claiming to be from HMRC and wanted to talk to my husband. Then, the second time it was an answering machine with a message warning it was our final warning before some expensive penalty would be enforced. I'm fed up with these scam calls. It's frustrating that BT doesn't seem to block these, especially since they must be aware of these numbers.

Just got home from holiday and got the exact same recorded message from someone called Lisa Williams, it’s so daft. You can tell it’s a scam when at the end she says “goodbye and have a blessed day.” Honestly, these folks are so annoying they should be stopped properly. Got a call early today from what sounded like HMRC, with a message stating there was a major issue under my name. Got a call earlier today from someone claiming to be 'HMRC Lisa' - felt like a typical scam. Today my old auntie got a really nasty phone call from someone claiming she owed money to Hmrc. They were so rude and threatening, it left her terrified for hours. I had to explain to her that it was just a scam to calm her down. She reported it to BT, who took down her info, but they told her to contact the police if it happens again. Got one of those calls again this morning, just like everyone else seems to be getting. I instantly knew it was dodgy because the woman spoke with this posh English accent, and the way she phrased everything was pretty ridiculous. To top it off, she wrapped up the so-called important call by saying, "have a blessed day"!!! Honestly, it was a bit comical if it weren’t for the creepy way she said it.
