02031294936 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 02031294936 👆 is reported as a persistent source of nuisance and scam calls, predominantly from callers claiming to be from BT, Amazon, or solicitors alleging involvement in recent car accidents. Callers often have strong South Asian accents and attempt to elicit personal or financial information under false pretences, including threats of service disconnection or offers of compensation. Recipients report frequent unanswered calls, silent lines, aggressive behaviour, and repeated harassment despite registration with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). Many warn against engaging or allowing remote access to computers, advising immediate disconnection and reporting to authorities. The consensus is these calls are fraudulent phishing attempts exploiting personal data, causing distress especially to vulnerable individuals. Telecom providers and regulators appear slow to act decisively, leaving users to rely on call blocking and vigilance.

A guy with an Indian accent called, saying he was from BT, telling me my internet was gonna be cut off for five days. Said his name was Gary Wilson and wanted to get into my computer. I kept him on the phone as long as I could just to waste his time and phone credit. What really gets me is these numbers must be known by the phone company to be dodgy and upsetting for some people - they obviously know who the address belongs to since they handle the setup and billing. BUT THEY JUST IGNORE IT. Proper disgusting!

Got a ring from a bloke with an Indian accent saying my PC was full of viruses. He said he was calling from London but the number showed up as from abroad. I told him straight I’m no fool and asked for a proper London phone number. He wanted me to ring him from my phone but after I told him off, he never called back.

Got a call from someone calling himself 'John Smith' claiming to be from BT, saying my IP address was hacked and they'd disconnect me. It wasn’t a scary call, just a bit dull, so I ended it. If I’d been sharp enough when he said his name was John Smith, I might've spotted the Pocahontas joke earlier - just annoying, really. Since this number’s clearly being used in scams, why haven’t BT or the government blocked it yet?

Had a call from a bloke claiming he was from BT. He said my internet would be cut off for 20 days because their servers were showing errors from my PC. He also accused my computer of being involved in illegal downloads. Asked me for BT’s contact number so I could ring back, then gave me this number as their 'technical team' (the number on my phone was 01382491353). I only have a phone line with BT, broadband is with Sky, but he somehow knew I use Sky broadband. #DON'T LET THESE SCAMMERS GET ACCESS TO YOUR PC# REPORT THEM TO BT SO THEY CAN BLOCK THIS NUMBER

Someone rang me pretending to be from BT, saying my internet was going to be cut off for a fortnight. They claimed there were loads of error messages on their system and that someone was using my connection without me knowing, and it needed sorting out. I asked for their phone number, and they gave me 0203 129 4936. Even after I told them they were talking nonsense and seemed like a scammer, they didn’t bother hanging up.

Some bloke with an Indian accent rang me pretending to be from BT, saying my phone line was going to be out for ten days. Told me to ring him back with a number that I looked up and it’s definitely not BT. I reckon he’ll ring again, probably asking for my bank info, car keys and maybe even my house documents. Fair enough really, if he’s spending his day calling me all the way from India!

Got a call claiming it was BT internet saying my connection would be cut off for a month because of some security problem on my PC. I asked the guy, who said his name was Matthew, what his deal was. He kept insisting he was really from BT. I told him I'd call BT myself to check. Life's too short to waste time with these tosser’s. Don’t follow any instructions they give you. Just hang up.

This number just rang me about some old car accident compensation. Thought it was legit so I looked it up online but found out the company isn’t real at all. It’s definitely a scam. They seem to be picking names similar to real businesses to trick folks into giving their info. Better to just ignore and not respond to them.

This number keeps ringing me quite often. Today, I finally picked up and as soon as the recorded message began, I just left the handset off the hook for a couple of hours, leaving their line busy and unusable. Once I placed it back, they called again, I grabbed the phone but didn’t say a word, and then the call just cut off after a little while. Fingers crossed they get the message.

Got a annoying phone call earlier from this number, asking about a car crash from years back. We’ve had this firm calling us repeatedly saying there’s been a car crash outside with people hurt. Every time I’ve had to tell them it isn’t true and ask them to quit bothering us with these lies. Got two calls tonight, both from the same number - it’s Thursday 9th June 2016. The guy said he’s with Highways Solicitors, said their office is in London when I asked. Then I asked to speak to his manager and he just hung up on me, said 'goodbye' a few times and then nothing. I’ve already registered on the TPS and told him that, but he obviously didn’t care at all. Anyone know how to put a stop to these annoying calls?

Got a call earlier today about some 'accident' supposedly involving me. I told the guy I was recording everything and that I’d be notifying the cops, then he just cut me off and ended the call.

Got a call this morning at 9:17 on 11th May 2016. Nothing was said at first, just silence, and then they hung up saying "goodbye". Really strange and quite annoying.

Got one of those “You’ve been in an accident” calls again. This time the guy was surprisingly polite and actually told me where he was calling from - some call centre in Pakistan called Highway. Apparently, they’re working for those ambulance-chasing lawyers, ringing up anyone they can find. He mentioned they get numbers from the BT Phonebook and just keep going till they find someone who’s had a crash. He reckons the only way to avoid these calls is to take your details out of the BT Phonebook. After getting these calls on and off for 5 years, I’m seriously thinking of doing that!

this morning i got a call from this number saying I'd been in an accident, which is totally not true! i told the guy my number is ex-directory and on the do not call list, then he just cut me off.

Received a call, and my missus answered, but she promptly cut it off. Tried calling back and made an effort to clarify that I was perfectly fine and hadn’t been in an accident, yet he wasn’t having any of it. Called a third time, and he was rather rude, so I gave him a piece of my mind. He ended up hanging up, so I guess that’s a victory for me!

Got a call this morning from some accident company trying to target elderly folks, sounded like the same Asian bloke. It’s really annoying how they keep doing this.

They rang me on the 3rd of May 2016, about five times regarding a car crash I was involved in. I picked up three of the calls as I was busy, and told the guy to leave me alone. After that, he called back three times straight away and started getting really rude with me.

On 2 May 2016 at about 12.47, I got a phone call from this number about a funeral plan. It really upset my mum, who’s 88 and has dementia, and she ended up crying afterwards. Complete nightmare for her.

Got a call from a bogus law firm claiming I was in some made-up accident. I told them it’s against the law to pretend you’re a solicitor if you’re not. Also found it quite funny they rang me up on a bank holiday Monday. I’ve had to deal with real solicitors before, but seriously, who tries that on a holiday? What muppets.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying I’d already talked to him about a car crash. Classic scam call as usual. Happens all the time. Naturally, the phone companies say there’s nothing they can do and the government doesn’t give a toss about all these rip-offs. I reckon the US NSA could track them down in no time! Maybe a couple of drone strikes would teach ’em a lesson ;-)

I normally avoid picking up these calls cause they’re mostly rubbish, especially around midday. This one popped up and seemed kinda legit on the caller ID, so I answered. The line was quiet for a bit, then all of a sudden I heard someone just say "goodbye". Weird.

Just like others have mentioned, I picked up the call because it seemed like a London number I didn’t recognise. After a brief silence, a man with a South Asian accent asked for me by name. I asked who was calling - twice actually - and he said he was from a law firm in London, which I suspected straight away. I responded with, "I've got your number and will be reporting this to the police and the nuisance call authorities." Not sure if there’s really such a thing as a nuisance call bureau though! Then I just hung up. The caller was from 020 3129 4936.

Today at 11:53am, I got a call from what sounded like the same Asian man, asking for my name again. I told him yet again to take my number off their list and just hang up. Honestly, I don’t even let him explain why they’re calling because I have no interest. It’s that familiar voice I’ve had to answer to so many times now. Is there anything we can actually do about this?

Just got a call from these lot. Bit upsetting really, coz the only accident I've known at home in the past three years ended with my husband's passing. I’m puzzled where they pulled my number from and what on earth they expect to gain by ringing me up like this? - caller: Indian

This isn’t the first time these lot have called me, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number and also filed a complaint with the ICO. I’m already signed up with the TPS, and I’d seriously recommend others do the same to try and make these annoying calls stop. The number that’s been pestering me is 020 7946 1376.

Got a call from an Indian guy who claimed I’d had a car accident recently with no injuries, only car damage. I told him everyone was actually hurt, and he just said "Good, I’m pleased you all got injured" before hanging up. Tried ringing the number back to complain, but no luck. Complete rubbish.

Some bloke called "Kevin Brown" from 020 3129 4936 rang up and asked for me by name. From his super thick accent, he probably grew up somewhere in India or nearby. He wanted to know if someone in my house had a small car crash within the last three years. Pretty boring and obvious script if you ask me. I just ended the call. I guess they’ll keep getting cleverer while I’ll just keep getting more forgetful with time.

Today my elderly folks got pestered loads. When my mum refused to give her name, the person accused her of breaking into their house and nicking stuff. Sounded like an Indian bloke since my mum could barely catch what he was saying. I tried ringing the number back but it just kept buzzing and buzzing. Honestly, if I ever get hold of whoever’s on the other side, I’d be fuming. Makes me wonder if Enoch Powell had a point, to be honest.

I just got a call from a guy who sounded Indian or Asian, claiming to be from some solicitor office about a small accident. I told him if they have all my info then they should send me something in writing but he said he couldn’t do that. I also said I don’t even own a car so why would I be involved in any accident. Then he just cut me off. Feels like a scam to me and this really should be stopped or at least reported.

Just got a call like that not long ago, the guy said he was ringing from Highways Solicitors, but the number he used was not the same. I think they’re from Birmingham. I made it clear I wasn’t interested because what he said was wrong. Don’t know if this helps anyone else or not.

So this bloke rang up saying I’d been in a car crash. I played along just to see where he’d take it, even said yeah it happened. Then he started asking loads about the crash, saying even if I wasn’t hurt and the car was fixed, I might be able to get some kind of ‘extra compensation’. But he couldn’t really explain what it was for. That’s when I lost interest and ended up swearing at him.

Like others have said, some Asian guy kept calling about a recent accident I supposedly had. I told him I wasn’t interested and just cut the call. But these lot wouldn’t stop ringing all day, so eventually I just kept him on the phone for about 15 minutes chatting nonsense until he finally gave up.

Blimey, my run-in with this number today was just like many others have shared. At around 11 in the morning on March 10th, I got my first call. As I picked up, they promptly disconnected. I decided to give 1471 a go, but there was no response. Then, out of the blue, I got a call back from someone with an accent that sounded Asian, but I struggled to make sense of what he was saying. He started rambling about an accident, and I thought I'd play along, claiming I’d been in one. He droned on with some nonsense and began asking ridiculous questions, like whether a man or a woman was involved in this supposed accident. I made it clear that my only accident was yonks ago, about two decades back. At that, he snapped that I’d wasted his time and cut the line. There surely must be a way for these nuisances to be dealt with legally, don't you think?

Today, March 10th around 11 in the morning, I got a call that was just like what others have said. When I picked up, the caller just hung straight away. I tried calling back using *1471 but no joy, no answer. Then they called me again and this time, the person on the other end sounded like they had an Asian accent, which made it tough to follow. They rambled on about some accident and I played along, confirming I’d supposedly been in one. They kept prying with odd questions, like if it was a bloke or a woman who was involved. I told them my only accident happened 20 years ago, and that's when they told me I’d been wasting their time and hung up. Surely there’s got to be some proper way to stop these annoying calls?
