02031294936 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 02031294936 👆 is reported as a persistent source of nuisance and scam calls, predominantly from callers claiming to be from BT, Amazon, or solicitors alleging involvement in recent car accidents. Callers often have strong South Asian accents and attempt to elicit personal or financial information under false pretences, including threats of service disconnection or offers of compensation. Recipients report frequent unanswered calls, silent lines, aggressive behaviour, and repeated harassment despite registration with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). Many warn against engaging or allowing remote access to computers, advising immediate disconnection and reporting to authorities. The consensus is these calls are fraudulent phishing attempts exploiting personal data, causing distress especially to vulnerable individuals. Telecom providers and regulators appear slow to act decisively, leaving users to rely on call blocking and vigilance.

A guy with an Indian accent called, saying he was from BT, telling me my internet was gonna be cut off for five days. Said his name was Gary Wilson and wanted to get into my computer. I kept him on the phone as long as I could just to waste his time and phone credit. What really gets me is these numbers must be known by the phone company to be dodgy and upsetting for some people - they obviously know who the address belongs to since they handle the setup and billing. BUT THEY JUST IGNORE IT. Proper disgusting!

I received a rather suspicious phone call from a gentleman with an Indian accent, who claimed that my computer was infested with viruses. He asserted he was phoning from London, yet the call showed up as coming from overseas. I quickly made it clear that I wasn’t keen to play the fool, and I requested his London contact number. He suggested I ring him back on my mobile, but after I told him where to go, he hasn’t attempted to reach out again. Not surprised, really!

Got a call from someone calling himself 'John Smith' claiming to be from BT, saying my IP address was hacked and they'd disconnect me. It wasn’t a scary call, just a bit dull, so I ended it. If I’d been sharp enough when he said his name was John Smith, I might've spotted the Pocahontas joke earlier - just annoying, really. Since this number’s clearly being used in scams, why haven’t BT or the government blocked it yet?

Had a call from a bloke claiming he was from BT. He said my internet would be cut off for 20 days because their servers were showing errors from my PC. He also accused my computer of being involved in illegal downloads. Asked me for BT’s contact number so I could ring back, then gave me this number as their 'technical team' (the number on my phone was 01382491353). I only have a phone line with BT, broadband is with Sky, but he somehow knew I use Sky broadband. #DON'T LET THESE SCAMMERS GET ACCESS TO YOUR PC# REPORT THEM TO BT SO THEY CAN BLOCK THIS NUMBER

Someone rang me pretending to be from BT, saying my internet was going to be cut off for a fortnight. They claimed there were loads of error messages on their system and that someone was using my connection without me knowing, and it needed sorting out. I asked for their phone number, and they gave me 0203 129 4936. Even after I told them they were talking nonsense and seemed like a scammer, they didn’t bother hanging up.

Some bloke with an Indian accent rang me pretending to be from BT, saying my phone line was going to be out for ten days. Told me to ring him back with a number that I looked up and it’s definitely not BT. I reckon he’ll ring again, probably asking for my bank info, car keys and maybe even my house documents. Fair enough really, if he’s spending his day calling me all the way from India!

Got a call claiming it was BT internet saying my connection would be cut off for a month because of some security problem on my PC. I asked the guy, who said his name was Matthew, what his deal was. He kept insisting he was really from BT. I told him I'd call BT myself to check. Life's too short to waste time with these tosser’s. Don’t follow any instructions they give you. Just hang up.

I've received numerous calls from this number, and each time, the caller seems to have an Indian accent. Whenever they ask if I'm Eric, Michael, Chris, or any other name, I playfully respond that I'm Gunga Din. Strangely enough, they tend to end the conversation abruptly after that!

I had a call from the number mentioned above, claiming that I could get compensated for an old car accident. Naturally, I did a bit of digging online. To my surprise, the firm doesn't appear to be real at all; it’s clearly a scam. They seem to bamboozle people by mimicking the names of legitimate companies to swindle private information from innocent folks. It's best to ignore these calls altogether!

I received a call regarding a car crash involving my elderly mother, who's 95 and unable to leave the house. Thankfully, she had shared my contact details with them. I maintained a polite tone but had to inform them that their information was inaccurate. The caller was a chap named Robert hailing from India.

This number has been pestering me with incessant calls lately. Earlier today, I decided to pick up, only to be greeted by that monotonous recorded message. Instead of engaging, I simply left the phone off the hook for a good couple of hours, jamming their line in the process. When I finally returned the handset to its place, wouldn’t you know it, they tried calling again! I picked up but didn’t respond, and after a few moments, they just hung up. Fingers crossed they've got the message now!

Received a call purporting to be from some fictitious outfit called Highway Solicitors, which I later discovered is a complete fabrication. They were inquiring about a supposed car accident that I have no recollection of occurring. When I pressed them for the source of their information, they absurdly claimed it came from a non-existent department within the government related to road traffic accidents. It's best to steer clear and not divulge any personal details to these chancers.

I just received a rather dubious phone call regarding a made-up car accident. I informed the caller that such cold calling is against the law and that I would be reporting them. If they truly represent a legitimate business, then they ought to be thoroughly embarrassed by their tactics. It's high time Ofcom took action against this sort of behaviour!

Today, I got an annoying call from this number, probing about an old car accident from years back. They were promising £2,000 to £3,000 in compensation for the "trauma" I supposedly experienced - despite my telling them it was all sorted ages ago. Reading the stories shared by others here really backs up my gut feeling about this!

We've received numerous calls from this firm claiming that there’s been a car crash at our location, accompanied by some injuries. I've repeatedly informed them that their assertions are completely unfounded, and I've asked them to cease these incessant, misleading calls. Received a couple of ring-a-dings tonight, Thursday, 9th June 2016, from the same individual. When I inquired, he claimed to be calling from Highways Solicitors. I probed further about their office location and he answered London. However, when I requested to have a word with his line manager, all I got back was a rather curt, 'goodbye, goodbye, goodbye'. Is there a solid way to put an end to these pesky calls? I've registered with the Telephone Preference Service, which I mentioned to the caller, but they clearly brushed it off without a second thought.

Another one of them "sales calls" about some "accident" thing. My missus picked up and put up with it for a bit, then said "Don't you get it? People aren’t falling for this anymore." Then hung up straight away. I barely pick up these days, strange numbers just get the voicemail.

So annoying, I could barely make out what he was mumbling with his Indian accent, something about my car which I don’t even own. When I asked how he got so daft, he just hung up on me. Weirdly, he knew my name when I picked up.

Received a phone call from someone with a heavy Indian or Pakistani accent, and I really struggled to grasp what he was saying. He managed to mention that he was ringing on behalf of a legal firm, but I cut him off, accusing him of being a cold caller. At that point, he promptly ended the call.

I received a rather peculiar call today at 9:17 AM, 11th May 2016. There was nothing but silence on the other end, followed by a rather abrupt "goodbye". Quite an unsettling and unwelcome experience, to say the least.

I received yet another one of those typical "You've been in an accident" phone calls. However, this time around, the gentleman on the other end was a bit more forthcoming with information. He mentioned that he was situated in Pakistan and was affiliated with a call centre named Highway. Apparently, they’re on the lookout for clients on behalf of ambulance-chasing lawyers. He claimed they’d sourced my number from the BT Phonebook and that they blitz every number they can track down, banking on the fact that eventually, they’ll hit upon someone in need of assistance post-accident. He advised that the most effective way to put an end to these incessant calls is to have my name removed from the BT Phonebook. After enduring five long years of this nuisance, I’m seriously considering it!

Received a call, and my missus answered, but she promptly cut it off. Tried calling back and made an effort to clarify that I was perfectly fine and hadn’t been in an accident, yet he wasn’t having any of it. Called a third time, and he was rather rude, so I gave him a piece of my mind. He ended up hanging up, so I guess that’s a victory for me!

They rang me on the 3rd of May 2016, about five times regarding a car crash I was involved in. I picked up three of the calls as I was busy, and told the guy to leave me alone. After that, he called back three times straight away and started getting really rude with me.

Got a call from a bogus law firm claiming I was in some made-up accident. I told them it’s against the law to pretend you’re a solicitor if you’re not. Also found it quite funny they rang me up on a bank holiday Monday. I’ve had to deal with real solicitors before, but seriously, who tries that on a holiday? What muppets.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying I’d already talked to him about a car crash. Classic scam call as usual. Happens all the time. Naturally, the phone companies say there’s nothing they can do and the government doesn’t give a toss about all these rip-offs. I reckon the US NSA could track them down in no time! Maybe a couple of drone strikes would teach ’em a lesson ;-)

Similar to what others have noted: I picked up the phone since it appeared to be a fresh London number; after a brief silence, a gentleman with a South Asian accent requested to speak to me by name. I inquired - not once but twice - for his identity; he claimed to represent a legal firm based in London, and I could sense what was coming next. So I retorted: “I’ve noted your number and I’ll be notifying both the Police and the Nuisance Call Bureau.” (Not entirely certain if such a bureau exists?) Then, I promptly hung up. - caller: 020 3129 4936

At precisely 11:53 this morning, I received yet another call from a familiar Asian voice inquiring about my name. I’ve implored him countless times to take my number off his list and, quite frankly, I swiftly hung up the phone before he could launch into any spiel. Some bloke called "Kevin Brown" from 020 3129 4936 rang up and asked for me by name. From his super thick accent, he probably grew up somewhere in India or nearby. He wanted to know if someone in my house had a small car crash within the last three years. Pretty boring and obvious script if you ask me. I just ended the call. I guess they’ll keep getting cleverer while I’ll just keep getting more forgetful with time.

I just got a call from a guy who sounded Indian or Asian, claiming to be from some solicitor office about a small accident. I told him if they have all my info then they should send me something in writing but he said he couldn’t do that. I also said I don’t even own a car so why would I be involved in any accident. I received a call from someone who insisted I was involved in a car crash-curiosity got the better of me, so I played along. He began quizzing me about the so-called accident, saying that even though I’d escaped unscathed and the vehicle had been mended, I could still pursue some sort of ‘secondary compensation.’ However, he didn’t quite elaborate on what that actually entailed. To be honest, I lost interest and ended up giving him a piece of my mind!

Blimey, my run-in with this number today was just like many others have shared. At around 11 in the morning on March 10th, I got my first call. As I picked up, they promptly disconnected. I decided to give 1471 a go, but there was no response. Then, out of the blue, I got a call back from someone with an accent that sounded Asian, but I struggled to make sense of what he was saying. He started rambling about an accident, and I thought I'd play along, claiming I’d been in one. He droned on with some nonsense and began asking ridiculous questions, like whether a man or a woman was involved in this supposed accident. I made it clear that my only accident was yonks ago, about two decades back. At that, he snapped that I’d wasted his time and cut the line. There surely must be a way for these nuisances to be dealt with legally, don't you think?

Well, I had quite the experience today, much like others have reported. It was around 11 o'clock on the 10th of March when I first received a call. Upon answering, the line went dead, so I tried to call back using 1471, but there was no response. Shortly after, I got a return call from someone with an Asian accent, who was rather difficult to understand. He started rambling on about an “accident” and, rather naively, I played along and pretended that I’d been in one. He then bombarded me with ridiculous questions, such as whether the person involved was a man or a woman. I mentioned that the only incident I remember was from two decades ago. At that point, he abruptly declared that I had wasted his time and ended the call. It makes one wonder if there’s any legal recourse to tackle these sorts of nuisances.
