I got a call from someone saying they were from Microsoft’s cyber security team, telling me my computer was hacked and I needed to turn it on right away. I said I had to leave, and then they said they’d have to close my Microsoft account unless I went all the way to Reading in person with ID to get it reinstated. Also, the call came at 9:07, and when I said I wasn’t interested, they rang back just a minute later at 9:08 asking why my wife had hung up, then carried on with the rest of the usual rubbish.
