020 3962 1777 and 020 3962 2255 kept ringing me yesterday and today at the same time. It was some robotic voice with an American accent saying it was HMRC. They told me I had to call back and speak with a Julie Wilson immediately or my solicitor had to, or else I’d be in big trouble legally. They finished with “have a nice day, take care!” I’ve reported these numbers to HMRC and flagged them on social media as well. Both numbers blocked from now on!

My mum got called twice by the same number on her landline and it really freaked her out, she's quite old. If they ring again, I reckon I’ll pretend to be a fraud officer, like someone else I heard about did. That seemed to put a stop to the calls they were getting. These pests should be locked up for pretending to be from HMRC, especially when they’re terrifying people like that. Absolute lowlifes.

Yesterday I got a call from 02031293315 with a recorded message saying it was urgent and I had to either call back or have my lawyer do so. I rang them up and ended up talking to a bloke named 'John Cooper' with an Indian accent, claiming to be from HMRC. He told me I owed nearly £4,000 and threatened legal action, even citing a warrant number. It really scared me. However, when he asked for my postcode, he couldn’t tell me my full address, which he said his team had tried to deliver letters to. That raised my suspicions so I asked him to confirm my National Insurance number and date of birth to prove he was genuine, but he just dodged the question with some nonsense. Then today, I found another message on my answerphone, almost identical, but this time they left a different callback number - 02031293857. I haven’t called that one back. What’s going on? Why isn’t BT taking these scam calls down?

I rang a business number today, then called back to check who it was and they said they were from HMRC. When I asked what it was about, they tried to get me to give loads of personal details. My 83 year old mum got a scary phone call from the same number recently, its the same sort of threat. I called them back and some Asian bloke answered pretending to be from HMRC asking how he could help. I told him exactly where he could stick his threats. These fraudsters are well known - I saw a video on YouTube where someone unlucky dialled an IT expert who used an auto dialler with a message telling them to stop. He kept it going for hours, basically clogging their system up. Yet here they are, still operating. Why can’t our phone companies just cut off these scam callers for good?

Around 5.30pm yesterday, this number rang our home phone. We didn't pick up, but then this morning it called us three more times, finishing with a recorded message from a woman warning about legal trouble if we didn’t call back. I figured it was probably a scam, but my elderly partner got worried, so I decided to call them. An Indian-accented bloke claimed to be from HMRC. When I said I was returning their call, he asked for my name. I refused and asked what the call was about - suddenly he just hung up on me. A few things seemed off: my call was answered right away with background chatter like a call centre, which never happens without going through phone menus and waiting ages in a queue. Plus, call centre folk don’t just hang up rudely, and you wouldn’t be hit with legal threats from a mystery number out of the blue. Definitely be cautious and look up the number online before you answer.

02031297697 - Honestly, I’m fed up with rushing to pick up my landline just for it to be a scam call. There’s this woman robot voice telling me to contact a solicitor or else, sometimes pretending to be from the Tax office. I’m 76 and don’t need all this hassle, really.

This number rang me earlier today 13/10/2017, yeah I know it's Friday the 13th. Honestly, these folks should find legit work. Hope they end up facing consequences for their actions. It’s really concerning for older people who might believe them and end up getting scammed. Someone needs to put a full stop to these morons pronto!

There’s this prank app out there where folks can pretend to be from HMRC and demand tax money. It’s terrible since there are already loads of genuine HMRC scams going around. The people who create and use these apps are just as awful as the scammers themselves. I’ve also come across other prank calls where some bloke whines about you nicking his wifi or seeing his missus or partner - proper annoying stuff.

Phishing scams are getting worse, someone really needs to step in. Ofcom isn't doing much as usual, and these scams are a proper headache. It's hard to tell when a call is actually genuine. Plus they claimed to be from HMRC, which surely shouldn’t be allowed - using the Crown to scam people is just wrong.

These idiots have rung me 5 times today, blocked their number but they still manage to get through. Left the same message like people mentioned above. Pretty sure it’s a scam. I've reported it to the cops.

Today, 12th October 2017, around 11.30, a phonecall came through to my disabled client. I happened to be with her at the time and quickly searched the number online to prove it was a scam. The caller, a woman, left a voicemail threatening legal action and fines if the call wasn’t returned, saying she needed a solicitor. Please don’t ignore calls like this. Even though I showed my client the findings from my number check, she’s still shaken and keeps wanting to call back to resolve it. It’s really disturbing how much this has upset her.

Got the same call as before. They said it’s urgent and that me or my lawyer has to respond or else legal stuff will happen. Totally a scam for sure. Honestly think the police ought to step in because these calls are pretty scary and threatening. Best not to answer and block the number if u can.

They claimed to be from HMRC, when I rang back they said there’s a warrant out for my arrest because of unpaid tax. Total scam, best to just ignore it.
