Classic Microsoft scam call. They somehow had my name without me giving it. I asked them to say what address they had for me. They gave some random place I’ve never been and I told them that. The guy said he’d block all the PCs there. I just said “Go ahead, that’s not where I am,” then ended the call.

Got a call from some guy with an Indian accent saying he was working for BT. He told me hackers were trying to mess with my IP address. I was sat at my desk when he passed me over to another bloke who said he was a technician. When I asked how I could be sure they were from BT, he told me to ring 02031293274 to check. He said his name was Nick Shaw and gave this weird employee number: ec5830958587. After that, he asked me to Google something called ‘validator’. I wasn’t buying it at all. Has anyone else had calls like this?

Somebody called saying my computer was hacked and if I didn’t listen to them, I’d end up losing all my cash! They even gave me a number to ring back to prove it was legit.

Some bloke called saying my wifi was hacked and tried to get me to download some dodgy software. I looked up the website and found out it was a total scam, told him about it. He then gave me a number to "verify" him, but when I checked that too, it was a scam as well. The guy got really rude and threatened to cut off my internet. Proper shady behaviour.

An Indian bloke has been ringing me almost daily between 4 and 5 in the afternoon this week. Got a call earlier from a woman who sounded quite upset, claiming to be dealing with a money issue and insisted on speaking to the business owner immediately. She said her name was Christine, which seemed a bit dodgy to me - I've worked with an East Asian colleague called Christine Wong, a brilliant coder with a sharp wit and perfect English. Anyway, this lady wouldn't say what company she was representing or where she was calling from.
