Got a call from someone saying they were Sam Williams at Virgin Media. They asked me to switch my laptop on, but as soon as I refused, they just ended the call.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from BT regarding issues with my internet router. They insisted that I turn on my computer or laptop so they could demonstrate the supposed problems. Frankly, their manner struck me as suspicious; they appeared to be scammers operating from India, likely trying to install dodgy software on my device to gain access to my personal and banking information. It's quite alarming how these people operate!

I had the misfortune of receiving several calls from a certain Stacey Wilson, purportedly trying to assist me with my sluggish internet. She had the audacity to suggest I download the TeamViewer Quick Support app, complete with an ID number. Fortunately, my lack of technical know-how came to my rescue-I couldn't figure out how to grant her the necessary permissions, otherwise, I dread to think what might have unfolded! I've since changed all my passwords and reset my iPad as a safeguard. Considered myself fortunate to have dodged that scammer!

Just got off the phone with someone from this number - a rather persuasive woman, claiming we were experiencing intermittent issues with our Internet. She mentioned that she could help resolve it. When I told her that I couldn’t comply with her requests at the moment and questioned the authenticity of the call, she insisted it was urgent because apparently, there were numerous attempts to hack into our connection. She’ll be ringing me back in about an hour. I plan to inform her that I’m well aware this is a scam and that I’ve reported it. I really appreciate having this platform to share my experience. It’s quite alarming, as I fear others might fall for such tactics.

On the 1st of August, 2018, I found myself in a remarkably similar predicament to what others have recounted. Today, I received a couple of automated phone calls warning me that my Internet service class 1 and class 2 were set to be terminated due to potential hacking incidents. When I pressed 1, a lady with an accent that sounded Indian or perhaps from the Far East, came onto the line. She was incredibly convincing, and I nearly fell for it! However, I’m rather chuffed that I pushed for a callback number, although she was rather evasive about providing it. I’m keen to share my name but have my reservations about doing so.

Greetings! I recently had a rather dodgy phone call, much like what’s been mentioned by others on this platform. The caller claimed to be from TalkTalk, even managing to rattle off my name and address when I requested some proof of their identity. It’s quite alarming, isn’t it? It seems my personal information may have been compromised, possibly due to that TalkTalk data breach from a while back. As soon as I heard the chap, who had a distinct Indian accent, suggest that I log into my computer, I wasted no time in yanking out the Ethernet cable. I also asked for a callback number, which he provided as 0203 1292367. A quick search online brought me to this very site, and I can’t thank you enough for being here! The caller was quite convincing, I must say. Just to be safe, I’ve cleared all my cookies and so on before getting back online. Cheers for the heads up!

I had the exact same experience! They sound so convincing, but don’t trust them for a second. They try to get into your computer and nab all your personal info. It’s a total scam, seriously! Stay well clear!!! ????????????????

This morning at 8am on a Saturday, I received what can only be described as a robotic call claiming to be from the "Talk Talk Technical Centre." The message warned that my internet would be disconnected due to reported issues-something that’s indeed been happening from time to time. Once I engaged further, I was connected to a woman with a strong Indian accent who insisted she could "demonstrate the issue with my connection right before my eyes" and would arrange for a new router if necessary. She urged me to execute some command on my computer, but as I began to shake off the early morning fog, I realised I should really call them back instead. Her tone was quite aggressive, asking “don’t you trust me?” in a manner that felt completely unprofessional. The number she provided matched the one above. Quite a close call, I must say!

Some nasty scammers almost tricked my elderly neighbour into letting them open an online bank account using their details. When they popped over asking for my advice, I took them straight to the bank. Thankfully, we caught it just as someone was trying to withdraw money. The bank quickly froze everything and gave them new account info, so their funds were safe in the end. It’s really upsetting - makes me feel awful for older people who get targeted like this.

02031292367 is definitely dodgy as others have said. I saw someone mentioned they let the caller access their computer to "show reports" or something, which sounds like a massive red flag. Seriously, never ever let strangers connect remotely to your PC. They could easily put in software that steals your passwords or mess up your system to the point it won’t start up anymore. If you already gave them access, you really need to get your machine scanned and cleaned by a proper tech expert ASAP. Don’t take any chances with this kind of stuff!

Today, I received a call from a woman purporting to be from TalkTalk, who introduced herself as Flora Joseph. She had quite a thick Indian accent, making it rather challenging to follow what she was saying. She requested that I inspect the PC registry and seemed eager to guide me through some website steps to supposedly "fix errors". I asked if I could ring her back before proceeding any further. However, the number she provided (02031292367) turned out to be nonexistent. It's evident that this was a scam attempt.

I received a rather peculiar phone call from an individual who had a distinct Indian accent. He claimed to be from TalkTalk, mentioning some issues with my internet connection. He requested I access my laptop so he could demonstrate the alleged problems and fix them. Naturally, I declined and asked him for his contact number instead. He provided me with the digits 0203 129 2367. I assured him I would ring him back should I face any connectivity troubles, then proceeded to hang up. However, a mere ten seconds later, my phone rang again-lo and behold, it was the same chap! He didn’t hold back, hurling an explicit insult at me before abruptly terminating the call. Quite the charming encounter, I must say!

Earlier today, my 82-year-old father had a rather concerning phone call from a number that I later discovered is linked to dubious activity. The chap on the other end had quite a thick Indian accent and claimed to be representing Talk Talk. Unfortunately, my dad struggled to decipher what he was saying, and soon enough, the caller handed over the phone to a woman with a similar accent. They proceeded to instruct him to press different buttons on his computer, which he began doing but thankfully didn’t finish. Before hanging up, they mentioned they would be calling back the next day at 2 PM. After my dad reached out to me in a state of confusion, I did a quick search of the number online and found out it’s definitely a scam.

They claimed to be from TalkTalk but I was tied up so told them I'd ring later. They seemed quite hesitant to give their number though. When I got in touch with TalkTalk, they said it was a scam. Looks like I’m gonna have some fun calling them back and acting like I fell for it.

Got a call from someone calling themselves "Jones" claiming to be from TalkTalk tech support. He said I'd probably spotted my internet was running slow and he could boost the speed. When I asked for the number he was calling from, he gave me an 020 number, but when I checked with 1471, the actual incoming call was from a totally different number. I've blocked them both now.

I received a couple of calls from a lady named Anna Johnson claiming to be from Talk Talk, although I highly suspect it's a ruse. She had an Indian accent and insisted there was an issue with my internet connection, trying to gain access to my computer. I mentioned I'd call her back at 5pm, to which she promptly informed me that Talk Talk shuts up shop at 4pm! Just another scam artist in my book. She attempted to guide me to enter "eventvwr" into my machine, but I made her repeat what she was asking for while I cross-checked the phone number. Yet again, it’s another scam!

Got a couple of calls from a woman claiming to be Anna Johnson from TalkTalk, but I’m pretty sure that’s a load of rubbish. She spoke with an Indian accent and said there was some issue with my internet, trying to get remote access to my PC. I told her I’d call back at 5pm, to which she replied that TalkTalk shuts at 4pm! Sounds like yet another scam. She wanted me to type “eventvwr” into my computer, and I kept asking her to repeat herself while I looked into the number she was calling from. Definitely a dodgy caller!

I received a couple of calls from a person claiming to be Anna Johnson, supposedly from Talk Talk-though I’m rather sceptical about that. She had an Indian accent and was droning on about some sort of internet issue, attempting to gain entry to my computer. I mentioned I would get back to her around five o’clock, to which she replied that Talk Talk shuts down at four! Quite the dubious situation, seems like yet another scam attempt. She kept prompting me to type in "eventvwr" (event viewer) on my device, but I made her repeat her requests multiple times as I looked into the number online. Definitely a scammer at work!

Got a call from a woman claiming to be Anna Johnson from Talk Talk, but I’m pretty sure that’s not legit. The lady had an Indian accent and rang me twice, saying there was an issue with my internet and tried to get me to give her access to my PC. I told her I’d call back at 5pm, but she suddenly said Talk Talk closes at 4pm! Definitely felt like a scam. She wanted me to type “eventvwr” into my computer. I kept asking her to repeat what she wanted while I quietly checked the phone number and other details. Yep, classic scammer behaviour.

This number has been pestering me again. Over the past couple of days, I've had three calls - two blokes and one lady, all speaking with accents from the Indian subcontinent. They claim they're from TalkTalk's tech support and say there are issues with my internet. Every time I ask for their contact number, only one actually gave it: 02031292367. One of the callers got rude and told me to 'go to hell' when I asked for their number before just hanging up on me! Normally, I cut the call short once I make it clear I know they’re not really from TalkTalk.

I’ve had yet another spate of calls from this number - three in a mere two days! Each time it’s been a different caller, two chaps and one lady, all boasting accents from the Indian subcontinent. They claim to be from TalkTalk’s technical support, asserting that they’ve received notifications of issues with my internet connection. Every time I request their contact number, one of them actually provided it: 02031292367. However, the previous caller wasn’t quite as courteous; when I probed him for his number, he told me to shove off before abruptly ending the call! Generally, once I mention that I’m well aware they aren’t genuine TalkTalk representatives, I simply hang up.
