I received a call from a bloke with a pronounced Indian lilt - I gathered his name was meant to be "ALEX," although I doubt it! He claimed there was some dodgy activity involving third-party riffraff on my internet, and insisted he needed to access one of my devices, be it my mobile, tablet, or laptop. Throughout the chat, he kept pushing the idea he was affiliated with Virgin Media (which was clearly false). After I had taken enough of his drivel, I decided to confront him quite bluntly. I pointed out (correctly) that I’m an IT engineer myself and told him exactly where he could shove his pathetic circus act - along with a few other choice words that are best left unsaid. Surprise, surprise, he promptly hung up! What a fool - I gave that scammer a taste of his own medicine. Just a heads-up to anyone who encounters a similar situation - don’t hesitate to report these calls to your actual service provider using a different phone.
