Got a call from some noisy Indian call centre, couldn’t understand a word they were saying. Thought to myself, if this was legit, it wouldn’t sound so chaotic. Clearly just a scam trying to waste my time, so I just hung up. I had to answer since I’m waiting on job calls, but I always remind myself: don’t give out personal info to strangers, don’t fall for offers that sound way too good, and don’t get scared into making quick decisions. I just received a call from someone I recognised as a known con artist right from the start. He wanted to know what type of phone I had because he claimed he could provide a load of enticing offers. Today, I got a call from someone I instantly recognised as a scammer pretending to be from Currys. He asked what phone I had because apparently there were loads of special offers for me. I was feeling chilled so politely told him no thanks, I’m happy with my current deal. Then he kept pestering me, asking why I wasn’t interested. I couldn’t resist and told him to go and bloody mind his own business in the rudest way possible 😂😂😂 He fired back with some insults and then hung up on me 😂😂 absolute classic!

I've come across this number, and it appears to belong to a disturbing rise in fraudulent activity happening across the UK. These are the infamous 'silent calls' that seem to be the handiwork of a group that's trying to ascertain which numbers are live by using 020 virtual or rerouted numbers. It’s best to give these 020 calls a wide berth - answering could give them the green light that your number is valid, opening you up to potential harassment from further scam calls originating from 0345 or 0333 numbers. I highly recommend blocking these calls and reporting them to the authorities. It’s only by staying vigilant that we can tackle this menace!

Ah, what a typical annoyance! Seems like it’s yet another call centre nuisance, most likely originating from the subcontinent, but trying to masquerade as a London number. I picked up the phone and, lo and behold, there was silence on the other end before a click indicated that the usual multiple call operator had decided to butt in. They then attempted to engage me, claiming I was in need of speaking to a telecommunications company, but their accent was so thick I could barely make out what they were saying. It’s absolutely maddening, to put it mildly!

Claiming to be from a well-known phone provider, these chaps drop you a message offering a whopping 40% discount off your bill. Naturally, I was puzzled about what made me so fortunate. However, upon further inspection, the texts weren’t even from O2; they were dodgy attempts at scamming. I've had messages from O2 in the past, and they always come from a clearly marked O2-UK, not some shady number. When I confronted the bloke on the phone, he tried to deny it despite my findings. I asked him to verify how long I’d been a customer, which clearly stumped him. He just kept hounding me for info and urging me to provide him with the code. Quite frankly, I told him to take a hike and find a legitimate job instead of swindling hard-working individuals.
