5 yearsGot two calls from this number within the past four days. I never pick up unknown numbers; if it’s important, they’ll drop a voicemail anyway.5 yearsI said, "Who asked you to ring me?" and they just cut the call straight away.5 yearsThis morning, I received a call that I answered without saying anything at all. I just sat there in silence, and after about 15 seconds, the caller ended the call. Such a peculiar encounter!5 yearsJust had some dodgy calls from people claiming to be Carphone Warehouse, total scam artists. Avoid them!Carphone Warehouse5 yearsWhenever I get a call from an unknown number and want to find out who it is, I pick up but stay silent. Usually, after just a second, I’ll hear a click and the call ends. If there’s any noise or people talking in the background, I just hang up straight away. If it’s something important, they’ll leave a voicemail anyway.5 yearsI received a call purporting to be from Carphone Warehouse saying it was time for my phone upgrade. Something felt a bit off, so I took a moment to verify on this site and concluded that it was likely a scam. I politely ended the conversation, feeling quite relieved.Carphone Warehouse5 yearsI picked up the phone, only to be met with silence on the line, and then it just cut off!5 yearsI’ve been targeted by a bunch of fraudsters using the numbers 02031219852, 02038073418, 02037695031, and 02037471912 - they all seem to be connected. They claimed to represent Carphone Warehouse and said they were reaching out about an upgrade with EE. They were after quite a bit of personal information, such as my name, date of birth, address history for several years, bank details, and card numbers, not to mention my email address. These con artists send over ridiculous fake contracts through an email that looks anything but official. The person I spoke with had an accent that sounded Indian over a very muffled line, which makes me think they’re using some form of VOIP. After collecting all my information, they rang me a few days later to say they’d attempt to charge my card. They actually had the audacity to advise me to inform my bank that the call was genuine - how brazen! Naturally, I provided them with false details and card numbers just for a laugh. I could hear them scratching their heads in confusion when the transactions didn’t go through. I even gave them a completely made-up card number in a slow, drawn-out fashion, all while chuckling to myself! If you get a call from these numbers, definitely don’t share any genuine information; just hang up or toy with them to keep them busy so they can’t scam someone else. UPDATE: To my surprise, months later they contacted me again, this time from 02031219852. Same voice, same spiel about Carphone Warehouse/EE needing to update my details for an upgrade. They even recited the false information I had accidentally given them previously, including the bogus card details, insisting they required new card information. Whatever you do, don’t fall for their tricks - they’re clearly looking to exploit you and pull off some fraud!Carphone WarehouseEECarphone Warehouse / EE5 yearsPicked up the call, yet there was nothing but silence on the other end.
