I got a voicemail saying some letter from HMRC got sent back and I needed to press 1 to stop legal trouble. When I did, a woman picked up right away with "how can I help you?" That’s when I realised it was a scam. HMRC would never pick up that fast. If they’d made me wait on hold for a bit, I might have ended up giving them my NI number and bank details or something!
