I recently had a rather bothersome experience with an incessant caller, purporting to be from Carphone Warehouse, claiming I was a customer when, truth be told, I’m not. It didn’t stop there; they then insisted they were ringing from my service provider. When I pressed for details about which provider that might be, they fluffed their lines entirely. This chap wouldn’t take no for an answer and kept harping on about upgrading me to the latest iPhone. When I questioned why I’d want to do that, he just kept pushing. I firmly requested that he wipe my number from their records and cease all further communication, but he stubbornly refused and insisted he’d persist with the calls. I’ve since blocked the number, but it was a frustrating ordeal, to say the least.

I wasn’t having any of it and told him to jog on. Honestly, I don’t get how people keep falling for these tricks. WHY do they hand over such private info to some random person on the phone? If I turned up at someone’s house and asked for their name, address, driving licence and bank details, I doubt anyone would just give it to me. Yet on the phone some people just do. Madness.

They keep ringing me up claiming they’re from EON, but when I told them we don’t use EON, the bloke said his name was EON and he was actually from British Gas (which we’re not with either). Feels like they’re just trying to gather info or it could be some dodgy scam. Wish I hadn’t shared anything with them, definitely blocking and reporting now.
