It seems that someone from the States reached out concerning our son's future software project that these individuals were working on. Yet, even after prompting them to reiterate the company's name, we just couldn’t seem to catch it. Quite possibly a scam, if you ask me.

I let the call slip through my fingers.

I had an interesting encounter with a caller claiming to be a certified engineer from Microsoft. He went on about how my computer had supposedly sent them a distress signal that required his intervention. The chap didn’t seem to grasp that I'm using Linux as my primary operating system, which obviously has nothing to do with Microsoft whatsoever. Even after I clearly indicated that his help was not needed, he maintained his insistence that he could assist me. I suspect this is just a ruse to gain access to my computer. So, take heed and don’t fall for it!

Just received a call from an American telemarketer trying to sell me something utterly pointless! They claimed to be calling from Salt Lake City, yet their number was a UK freephone. How baffling! They even had a British caller ID, which made it all the more frustrating. It’s clear they have no regard for the UK’s Telephone Preference Service, so I certainly don’t feel inclined to take them seriously either.

I answered the call and after a short pause, a voice with an American accent inquired about my wellbeing. I replied with, "May I ask who's calling?" but they promptly disconnected.

Received a call from this number as well, but as soon as I picked up, the line went silent.

A couple of days ago, I received two calls from this number, but each time I picked up, there was nothing but silence on the line. Quite peculiar, really!

They disconnected as soon as I picked up...likely just testing the line, I reckon.
