They said they were from O2 or Virgin, supposed to check if I had network problems after others had reported issues. When I answered, there was that weird delay before the call actually connected, which normally makes me suspicious. I had a feeling it might be dodgy, and as soon as I asked a few questions, the person just cut off the call straight away, so I guessed it was a scam.

I was on a train when this number rang me. I told whoever was on the other end that the signal was poor and I couldn’t understand them well. As soon as I said that, they just hung up straight away.

Somebody rang me claiming to be from O2, saying I could get a discount plus a free gift. Soon after, I got those security alerts warning me never to share my code with anyone, even if they say they're from O2 because legitimate staff won’t ask for it. The woman on the phone insisted she had sent the message herself and it was fine to give her the code. That code would’ve let them get into my O2 account and change passwords. Total scam. When I challenged her, she got quite annoyed and quickly hung up. Definitely a dodgy call.
