I got a call from a lady who already knew my name. She said the warranty for my washing machine was about to expire and asked if I wanted to renew it. I asked her to post me the details, but then she just ended the call.

I picked up as soon as it rang once, but there was silence on the other end.

They actually knew my name but once I noticed the call was from a 0203 number, I just ended it immediately.

I didn’t get a message left when I answered, so I’m thinking it might be something dodgy. Could be something illegal going on.

Someone called claiming they could extend the warranty on my washing machine. I got suspicious straight away, so I fired a few questions about my actual machine and the warranty they were talking about. They fumbled a bit and just blurted out stuff like "it's a Bosch" when mine's definitely a 's white'. After that, they just ended the call abruptly. Pretty obvious it was a scam.

Got a call from someone called Adam about my washing machine’s insurance running out. When I asked which model they were talking about, he said they thought it was a freestanding one but that they'd only be sure once it stopped working - dodgy if you ask me! I told him my washer isn’t covered at all, so obviously this was some kind of scam. He hung up straight away. I’m planning to report him to the ICO and TPS next.

I got a call from a woman who said hello and gave her name after a brief silence. As soon as I replied, she just cut off. Seemed more like a real person than one of those automated calls. Gotta say, that’s got to be such a tough and boring thing to do all day!
