Got a call from someone saying they were with BT, telling me my computer was infected with malware. I asked for some info to prove it, but they just ended the call. Pretty sure it was another tech support scam.

A rather peculiar phone call came through earlier, though I failed to catch the name of the caller. This individual inquired about a certain Peter, yet wouldn't share any details regarding the purpose of their ring. I pressed for clarification without disclosing who I was, and the chap promptly told me to 'stick it' before abruptly hanging up. Upon investigating the number, I found it to be 02030867875, with an automated message claiming to be from Global Wine Exchange. I left a rather cross message demanding that one of their directors return my call at once. Truth be told, I doubted I’d hear back from them at all.

Received a rather peculiar call from the number 02030867875. The person on the line simply hung up when I inquired about their identity. They mentioned my husband's first name, which piqued my curiosity, but when I requested to know who they were and their location, they promptly disconnected. Quite odd behaviour!

I picked up, but no one said a word. Just this annoying noise I could hear in the background, like someone messing about.

I could tell it was one of those call centres right from the quiet pause before he started talking. He asked if I was Mr B, and I shot back with, “Do I really sound like Mr B to you?” since I’m a woman. The bloke had this really smug English accent. He claimed to be from some "professional organisation" and wanted to speak to Mr B. I just told him Mr B isn’t around.

Watch out for that wine investment scheme, it’s a total rip off and you’ll probably end up losing every penny you put in. Definitely steer clear if you value your cash.

I had no idea who was calling, so I just ignored it.

Got a call from someone claiming I could make 10 to 15% returns with some fancy wine investment. Sounds dodgy to me - if that was real, why’d they be stuck selling it themselves? Definitely felt like a bit of a sales scam.

At about 2.40 in the afternoon on 20/02/19, I got a call from someone pushing "fine wine". They were really stubborn, kept going even after I told them to take me off their list. Annoying that they already knew my name too. Not a fan at all.

Got a ring from some Cockney lads but they didn’t say a word. Not really sure what that was about, a pointless call from some muppet. Nothing much else to add to that.

i let the call go unanswered, but after seeing what others said, I realised id had a similar ring on my home phone. The person was asking if I was into fine wines. When I said yes, they suddenly switched to talking about stocks, shares, and ISAs (which seemed pretty odd alongside wine chat!). Was a bit caught off guard and when I said no thanks, I told them my partner handled all that money stuff and quickly ended the call!

Got a call from some wine firm about investing. I made it clear I wasn’t interested and asked them to stop their sales pitch, then put the phone down. Yet, they keep phoning back! Why do these people not take a hint? I’ve said I’m not up for it but they just carry on anyway.

These wine scam outfits were mostly shut down or faced legal action a while ago, but it looks like they’re back in action again. It’s frustrating how these companies manage to pop up repeatedly despite crackdowns.
