SCAMMER ALERT! My grandmother received a dodgy call informing her that her washing machine warranty had run out.

I got a call earlier from a man wanting to talk about a washing machine warranty and asking for my elderly family member. When I offered to take the call myself, he just hung up straightaway. Quite rude really.

Got a call from someone claiming they’re Legal Insurance, saying my washing machine cover is about to expire and asking for my sort code. When I asked why they needed that info, they just hung up on me. They’ve called me like five times now, always with a different person and using various numbers. Pretty suspicious if you ask me!

This was definitely a con selling fake extended warranties, no doubt about it.

Got a call about my washing machine warranty running out, but as soon as I asked who was on the other end, they just hung up. Bit annoying really.

I suspect this might be a dodgy operation posing as an aftercare service for home appliances, targeting things like washing machines and the like. When I inquired about a contact number to ring back if I chose to proceed, along with a website for verification, the woman simply cut off the call. It’s a clear indication of a scam, if you ask me. They didn’t even have my correct details, given that my warranty is still active-seems they were just trying their luck!

I received a rather unsettling call from a woman claiming that the warranty on our washing machine had expired, and she was specifically asking for my father, who, unfortunately, has just passed away not long ago. It’s worth noting that the machine was never registered in his name, which immediately raised our suspicions about the legitimacy of the call. When I pressed her for more information, she promptly hung up. Definitely a scam attempt!

I acted as though I had once held insurance for my washing machine.

A lady reached out, saying she was verifying details for a new washing machine coverage. However, she quickly pivoted to discussing prices for extra insurance. When I inquired about the company and pointed out that I seemed to have received an unsolicited call, her tone turned rather sarcastic and dismissive, almost as if she wasn't being sincere at all. The conversation wrapped up when I pressed about whether the calls were recorded and requested to speak with her manager. It was rather frustrating to encounter what felt like another one of those nuisance calls aimed at pushing extended warranties. It now seems more likely that this was merely a ruse to gather bank details and potentially pilfer funds. It’s disheartening to think that there are groups operating within the UK-clearly local, given the London number and accent-trying to exploit those who are vulnerable. Yet, I suspect "Jasmine" won’t be troubled by it in the slightest.

I received a rather unsettling call meant for my elderly mother. The stranger on the line addressed her by name and mentioned something about a washing machine. Upon answering and insisting that he identify himself first, his tone shifted dramatically. He abruptly demanded, "Get Mrs * back on the line immediately!" It’s baffling how someone pretending to be legitimate would react in such a rude manner! Naturally, I didn’t comply, and he slammed the receiver down in a fit of annoyance.
