9 yearsHonestly, all this racist bile online is just ridiculous. The UK won't get any better while these nasty, narrow-minded bigots keep spouting off and influencing things. If someone’s annoyed by a scam call, focus your anger on the scammer for being dodgy, not for their background. Chances are, the crook’s just a pawn doing dirty work for some wealthy, tax-evading white bloke from England.9 yearsgot a ring from these "charming folks" claiming they wanted to "verify" our business info to help boost our presence on some local business directory or whatever it was, supposed to improve our google visibility... I told them straight up I had no clue what this "local directory" thing was and that we weren’t interested in changing anything since we already rank pretty well on google :) The bloke sounded a bit let down, so I took the chance to politely ask them not to bother ringing again... we’ll see if that sticks...Google10 yearsGot a couple of calls from this number lately. Luckily my answer machine picks up and they just hang up without saying anything. Proper annoying!10 yearsSomeone rang asking for the company director and said they needed to verify some business details, claiming they worked for a google listings firm. I looked it up and couldn't find any such company. When I questioned them, they got quite defensive.Google10 yearsThey asked for the company director and said they were verifying company details, claiming to work for a Google listings company. I looked it up and couldn’t find any record of it. When I questioned them about it, they became quite defensive.Google10 yearsCan someone tell me how to stop this number from ringing me all the time?10 yearsIt's really tough to feel connected to our Asian community when we're constantly targeted from every direction. Some days, I get around 10 calls from these petty criminals, and when you’re just trying to relax at home, it feels like a huge invasion. The phone companies won’t block them because they’re making way too much money from it. Honestly, compared to what might come next, these times will seem quite easy. If we got rid of all immigrants and made everyone on benefits work, I reckon we’d be in a much better place as a country.10 yearsThis number keeps ringing me non-stop every single day, loads of times. It’s really starting to get on my nerves and affecting my health. Can somebody please sort this out and make them stop?10 yearsIt just went straight to voicemail and kept on playing that same tune over and over, got so annoyed. Definately a scammer call.10 yearsThey've called me about three times in the last hour, but every time I pick up, the caller just ends the call straight away. I told him to jog on, said I’m not interested in these shady calls. Used the Guardian feature on my BT phone to block the number. Doubt it’ll do much though, these lot always find a way round it. She was asking for my wife and wanted to check if we’re getting annoying calls. Then she tried to get our name and address, which I didn’t give out. She said they can’t really stop those unwanted calls anyway. I said alright and hung up. Seems like a scam to me.10 yearsHad a ring from a guy with an Asian accent claiming he was from some phone preference service, checking if the nuisance call block was doing its job. I told him, apart from his call, it’s fine. Also got a different unknown number ringing me just yesterday. Today, the same bloke wanted to confirm my name, address, and postcode. Then, he asked for proof we pay our phone bill by direct debit. Next, he pushed for the expiry date on my debit card, saying his records showed it expired in 2017. I told him that didn’t matter, but he insisted he needed to check. Sounds like he was just trying to put together a profile, probably after bank info if I hadn’t been wary straight away. I usually hang up quick if there’s a delay before they speak or if their English sounds off. There’s far too much private info out there for dodgy people to abuse.10 yearsSomebody said they were from the TPS, trying to see if I was getting any annoying calls. I told them I was aware they weren't legit, but let them continue out of curiosity. They asked if I'd been getting annoying calls, I said no, not before their call. Then they said they had to do some sort of test. At that point I just said I knew it was a scam and they were fibbing, and they hung up. That’s when I called them out, saying I knew it was a scam and they were fibbing. They hung up pretty quick. She hung up quick once she knew I wasn’t fallin for it.BT10 yearsGot two calls from the same number today. The first bloke tried to check my ID by asking for my card’s expiry date, said it was about some TPS thing. I refused, and he got a bit pushy and rude, so I told him I was hanging up and did just that. Couple minutes later, he called back apologising for not letting him speak! Sounded like an Asian guy who couldn’t say my name properly. Then a few hours later another guy, also with an Asian accent, called asking for someone totally unknown to me. When I said it was the wrong number, he hung up right away. These nuisance calls really need to stop.TPS10 yearsThe only annoying call I got today was this exact number, quite the irony!10 yearsGot a call from an Asian lady claiming to be from TPS, said I'd stop getting annoying calls. Asked if the phone was mine - I said no, it's registered to my husband. Then she asked if I paid the bill with a debit card and wanted to check the card number. Told her I don’t use debit cards, then she asked for cheque book details. I said I don’t have one and wasn’t feeling comfortable with her questions, so I just ended the call.TPS10 yearsA guy speaking with a thick Indian accent claimed to be from Telephone Preference Management, saying it was some kind of verification call. I told him to remove my number from their database for good. He asked why I didn’t trust him. I told him his call was exactly that - a nuisance - and insisted he delete my number forever. I kept saying that no matter what he replied. After a bit, I just left the phone off to the side without hanging up and let him ramble on as long as he liked. Eventually, he gave up and ended the call.TelephoneManagement10 yearsToday at about 4.30pm, I picked up a call from a number I didn’t recognise. The bloke on the other end, who sounded Asian, claimed he was ringing from the TPS. He wanted to know if I’d been getting annoying calls lately. I made it a rule to let any unknown numbers go straight to voicemail before answering. Weirdly, this one never drops a message. After I looked it up on the internet, it seems like it’s either a bothersome nuisance or possibly a scam. My advice? If you don't recognise the number, just don’t pick up. She then asked if my debit card had expired back in 2018.
